Attorney Meilus handled the transaction, title, and transfer of our house which was a family collaborative between me, my wife, and her parents. After my wife's father died, we decided it was time to move the property over to our names with a new mortgage electing the "gift of equity" route. Another complication in the process was that of a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) in my father in law's name. Apparently death is not a valid reason with solar companies to sever a contract. Our only option was to transfer the contract to us and have the "fixture filing" a.k.a lien temporarily lifted in order to close on the house. After calling a half dozen attorneys, Attorney Meilus actually returned my call. None of the others did.
