Latorre & Hochman

Reviews

La Torre Law Firm was amazing. They were professional and there was always communication. They always got back to me with any questions and concerns I had. Although the Immigration process was a little longer than anticipated, it was no fault of the law firm, it was due to changes in laws with new rules and documents required, also Covid had alot to do with the delay. I 100% recommend La Torre Law. They explained the process step by step. Always double checked to make sure all documents were in order. La Torre Law really gets the job done and they really take the time to analyze cases and let you know if you have a case or if you are going to waste time and money if you proceed. Thank you for helping us keep my family together and have a chance at a better future.
Lawyer Vlada was Amazing Since the Beginning. La Torre Law Firm Helped Me Gain My Residency. I was running my case for years and they finally were able to get it done. Giannina And Francisca were very helpful also! Im glad I was able to find them and let them help me with my case. Once again thank you very much!!!
I have an ongoing case with Latorre Law in regards to DACA. I had high hopes for a law firm who promotes helping the Hispanic community, but I was met with great unprofessionalism. I’ve spent weeks calling this and the Columbia, SC location and every single time I was told that they were too busy or on a lunch break. I’ve emailed 3 Latorre Law assistants that were supposedly on my case and I never received a response or update on my case. I am now in my junior year of college and I began this process my second semester as a freshman. My life is literally in the hands of this Law Firm and it’s been held with negligence and disregard. I wish I had the same hopeful excitement I had in the beginning, but I’m very disappointed and only hope that someone in the firm will care enough about my case to have it move forward. Ironically, this law firm responded quicker to this rating than they have to my calls or my emails.
I am more than thankful with Latorre Law Firm and all staff!! All the staff is very professional and they were such a great help with my case! Finally after 24 years waiting for this day to come I can finally say that I am a proud permanent resident and I couldn't have done it without Latorre! A very very very special thanks to Francisca, that help me and put up with me since day one till the last day, and Cindy for calling me and telling me about the great news! Thank you ladies for all your hard work! Even though we are not finish I know my husband and I are in the best hands!
I would avoid using Latorre law firm. Although their offices and staff seem very professional in person, once you pay them the money, you are not the priority. Initially my experience with Latorre seemed very promising. Their office seemed very professional and they seemed like the perfect place to handle my wife’s visa case. Things slowly went downhill though. After my initial meeting and paying $500 to get started, communicating with the law firm steadily became more difficult. The operation seemed less and less profesional and less and less organized the more I saw. Instead of supplying me with some sort of secure way to upload scanned documents to the law firm I was expected to send the scans of important documents such as my passport, birth certificare, social security number, via email to the legal assistant assigned to my case. Whenever I had questions regarding what other documents or information the law firm needed or clarification, responses to my emails would frequently take weeks or never come at all until I emailed a second time or called. When responses did come they were frequently cookie cutter emails that only repeated emails from before rather than addressing the questions I had asked. After a 4 month process of collecting documents and waiting weeks in between for responses to emails and phone calls we were finally able to schedule a signing appointment only to have to cancel the day before the appointment because we found some necessary documents were missing. At this point I decided to switch attorneys and asked them for an accounting of work done on my case, a return of any documents they had produced for my case, and a refund of any unused portion of my $500 dollars. Initially they refused all 3 requests. After multiple emails and phone calls it took a month for them to produce an accounting of work done on my case. They initially only returned the documents I had scanned and sent to them. It took another email and another week until they supplied me with the work product from my case which was only one document that was mainly information from a form I had filled out months earlier. I did not receive a refund for any of the $500. I would not use Latorre. Using this law firm will waste your time and end up costing you even more money when you eventually switch. Edit: To address Latorre’s response, I believe it to be misleading that there were multiple conferences. I have been to Latorre’s offices only twice once for an initial appointment to see if they could work on my wife’s Visa and a second time to get more information and begin work on the case. All other “conferences” would have been normal phone calls or emails with the legal assistant assigned to my case. I have never spoken or emailed directly with a lawyer from Latorre. Being inexperienced as I am sure most of their clients are, I was given a list of documents to provide. I did my best to provide those documents but this list was sometimes unclear (ie. Documents I did not have, or general categories like “any other Bonafides”). When I needed clarification about documents they asked me to provide, as I explained before, it was very difficult to get a clear response mainly because of the unreasonably long wait times to receive answers to my questions. It puzzles me that I am called uncooperative because of my inexperience with immigration law. Instead of viewing criticism as an opportunity to improve the practice, it seems Latorre tends to blame the client as seen in the response to this review and others.
