Mr. Barens seems to have a propensity for taking on cases, asking for retainers, then to withdrawal himself from case if he finds your monetary resources are exhaustible . Terrible practice of ethics. Barens has asked clients to sign retainer forms retroactively of receiving payment. n essence, he asks for retainer fee to do administrative work such as making phone calls, court filing fees. When it's time for appearances before a judge he ditches the case. Barens has left clients on the day of appearance. He was a complete no show to court sending his assistant instead to have clients sign substitution of attorney forms. This was after Mr. Barens agreed to appear and inform the judge that he will no longer be representing this particular client. Mr. Barens law office has threatened to take his client to court if substitution of attorney form and retainer fee agreement wasn't signed (RETROACTIVELY) All i can say is what happened to ETHICS. Its unfortunate I have to at least reward 1 star. Mr. Barens deserves none at all.
I have been working with this firm since April on my injury case and am appalled at their lack of communication and care. His paralegal, Gina Curtis, neglected to respond to me in a timely manner throughout the 7 months working with them. She would make me call to make appointments and towards the end left me in the dark about the case's status, next steps and seeking acupuncture care. It was an overall frustrating process on top of a painful injury, which made me feel alone and not in good hands. Do not recommend whatsoever for those that desire timely and professional communication and service.
He doesn't care about your case ,all he wants is money. when you hire him, he promise I do the best ,but he give your case to another attorney that does not know the law that much, and keep asking you more money. He is a family lawyer ,not a business litigation attorney and when you hire him ,he hires another family law attorney, when you complain about his attorney ,he says let me see what I can do,then you never hear from him. I would not recommend Arthur Barens . He is great man but too busy to handle your case personally.
The atty assigned to my case actually advised me to waive the liabilities of the repair shop, and told me to flow the policies of the medical office I was debt to... unfortunately the policy in question violated the ADA laws, but the atty still days obey. It's been 7 months, and im still injured and my vehicle has not been repaired. I dont know who to sue for malpractice, Arthur or his atty assigned to my case. It's been 7 months....
My father hired this law firm for a car accident he was involved in. This law firm fought for my father and made sure the insurance paid up. Plus they fought to have the medical bills lowered ,so ge could keep more money. I highly recommend hiring them. Great law firm !!!
