I was an employee of the State Alabama for over 32 years when I filed my case with the EEOC in Birmingham. Although I had the right to be free from discrimination and harassment based on my identity as a member of a protected class. I was denied a promotion, and subjected to unfair treatment based on my race. I hired Attorney Virgil Ford because he was highly recommended by former Judge Tracy McCooey. In the beginning, Mr Ford was professional, charismatic, articulate and very persuasive. Later, Mr. Ford made me aware that he had been approached for my files by an attorney, Timothy “Bo” Offord, a former attorney with the Medicaid office. Mr Offord currently works with the Attorney Generals (AGs) office. Attorney Ford indicated to me at one time they lived in close proximity to each other. At that time, I wasn’t concerned with regards to Attorney Offord’s reaching out to Attorney Ford because I had confidence in his integrity. I kept submitting the daily acts of retaliation on my job to Attorney Ford. However, for some unknown reason, he stopped responding to my calls, texts, emails, etc. Although Attorney Ford signed the Letter of Representation for EEOC, he also failed to respond to their calls, emails, voicemail, etc. I had no other option but to terminate his services and I requested the return of my case files. On one occasion, I called him from a friend’s phone, he finally answered but pretended he couldn’t talk with me until he pulled my case file. He never returned my call or my files. To this day, Attorney Ford has refused to return my EEOC files to me, which leads me to believe he may have sold my case files to my former employees. Mr. Ford undermined my confidence in his integrity, he has clearly violated my rights as a former client. Consequently, he should be disbarred for engaging in unethical or illegal practices. Regrettably I sought Attorney Ford for remedies for civil rights violations in my workplace to correct a discriminatory act or policy and to be compensated as a victim monetarily for these violations. Instead, I was oppressed and violated by my own lawyer. He should be held accountable for his actions/lack of actions. Therefore, I highly DO NOT recommend the Law Office of Hampton and Ford, especially Attorney Virgil Ford.
Had an experience with attorney Virgil C. Ford that left a bad taste in my mouth. He was rude, lazy, and disrespectful. I don’t know why anyone who is supposed to be working for their clients would be rude and act like he has put “too much time into a case.” Mr. Ford was hard to reach and foul mouthed. He is biased and has no problem telling you how he really feels about your situation. This type of person should not be servicing anyone.
If I could give no stars I would. Virgil Ford is a joke. No communication skills, curses and threatens clients, and puts the blame on anyone but himself.
Whatever you do don't hire Ford, he will not handle your case properly only look into it at the last minute he is worst than any public defender. Hampton is the much better option.
Attorney Ford is amazing... I could write a book about him and his work in the courtroom but I’m not... but I will tell any and everybody if in need of an A1 attorney he is the man!!!
