I have only had experience with Dr. Husen when he was an attorney. I did not leave this review.

Jim Husen was hired by my ex to perform a 730 evaluation after not getting a child custody recommendation he liked from mediation. Let me start off by saying that most child custody evaluations will end with one side being unhappy and that’s understandable. With that said, I’m not upset with Jim because of the outcome. I’m upset because Jim Husen completely failed to do his job on so many levels. First, Jim had almost 4 months to complete our evaluation but waited until the very last weekend to cram it all in. It was very obvious Jim did not thoroughly review our documents, instead he formed his opinion almost completely off of hearsay. The problem with hearsay is people lie, documents do not. Jim Husen faulted me for doing exactly what the judge told me to do. I even submitted transcripts from a previous hearing where the Judge told me our parenting schedule was based on my ex’s published work schedule and not what work schedule he says he is working. Had Jim read the documents he would have seen that. Second, Jim gave me the MCMI-IV assessment which is a self-report designed to help clinicians assess personality and psychopathology in adults who are currently in treatment. Meaning, this test should NOT be given to the average person who is not in treatment because it will exaggerate symptoms and give a false diagnosis which is exactly what it did. After speaking with a friend who is also a local 730 evaluator they were floored that Jim even administered this exam. Jim’s assessment of my personality etc. couldn't have been more wrong and his final report was a joke. Not only was his assessment completely off, his report was filled with grammar and spelling errors, he misused names (names of people not even involved) and misplaced people within families. Even the attorneys on both sides of our case were floored with the outcome of Jim’s evaluation. Trust me, you get what you pay for and that's why Jim’s pricing is cheaper than other local evaluators. More importantly, Jim failed to grant our almost 12 year old daughter her wishes on the custody schedule she wanted. Instead, he recommended a completely different schedule that she absolutely hates and is now stuck with. Sadly, Jim fell for a pathological liar's lies, his manufactured tears and all. Please be cautious hiring Jim to do your evaluation or any other type of service he offers, I personally would not trust him to do the job he is hired to do!

A complete joke of a mental health provider. What are his credentials? Poor insight, weak experience and clearly a terrible education. Or maybe he’s just a terrible person. I’m not sure, in the end he blamed the mother for the fathers abuse and basically said it’s your fault now deal with it. He was unprofessional and used the wrong names etc with his lazy copy/paste work. Do not let this joke be assigned to your family law case. He’s a lawyer who found a new cash flow.

Jim Husen is a professional and knowledgeable attorney. He is very friendly and compassionate. He filed and settled a case involving the demand of reemburstment for medical bills plus pain and suffering as a result of a car accident. Very promptly and smoothly, everything worked out well and very much in my favor. I am very pleased with his professionalism and service. I highly recommend him to someone in need of a great attorney.

Mr. Husen was my lawyer through a very complicated divorce and, later, the termination of parental rights. He is a very kind, competent, and thorough lawyer. I can't say enough good things about this man. I've dealt with other lawyers in the past, and there truly is no comparison. He is the only lawyer I would ever recommend, hands down!
