District Attorney Greg Willis is doing an amazing job!! It’s no surprise the low reviews are coming from criminals that are rewarded in blue counties for their horrendous crimes. Law abiding citizens are protected here!! Do yourself a favor and check the crime rates in Collin County vs Dallas county and other metro areas of the state. It is no surprise people are moving here in droves. Mr. Willis, keep following the law. The average citizen knows what’s going on.
Based on my observations and experiences, I have developed significant concerns regarding the prosecutor's conduct. This is regarding the prosecutor at Collin County Court 5. Specifically, I perceived experiences that could potentially be interpreted as exhibiting racial bias. These perceptions have led me to question the impartiality and fairness of the prosecutorial process in this instance.
This county and the district attorney's office is a joke. They are supposed to be serving us, instead what they do is the opposite. I am a "first time offender" that plano pd claims I was racing on the highway. Held my car from me, and pushed forward with a civil forfeiture. After trying to contact everyone and their mom I finally heard from a plano lieutenant 2 weeks later informing me the officier filed for a civil forfeiture. At that point I hired an attorney. My attorney informed me that they weren't interested in selling the car back to me which is absurd in and of itself. Said if I wanted to take it to trial they would use whatever that was said in the trial to basically hurt me more on the criminal side. This law was intended to be used on a federal level involving cartels and drug operations. Now they steal whatever they deem lucrative and threaten you if you go after the item they will come after you with criminal charges in hopes to scare you away and you just give it to them. If you are poor you are just shit out of luck. What used to be a ticket is now a legal pirate operation to fund the department and district attorneys office. Thank you for "serving and protecting".
Taking a look at the other comments it’s not surprising that I’m here reporting this. The DA is nothing but a lying lazy group of people. Their statement is “looking out for the community” when that’s far from the truth. The DA, offered terms to the victim for a plea deal, this conversation happened twice to be certain of the plea. Fast forward to court date and what they stated was not the truth. They wanted to get out of the work and now they have allowed a violent person off on charges that they said would be included in the plea deal. Not only that but they took 3 weeks to contact the victim after multiple calls to them. It just tells you they know they lied and don’t care about holding the defendants accountable. Greg Willis is a big POS
This office used to be one of the best prosecuting offices in the state of Texas. It’s deteriorated so much under Greg Willis. It’s his poor leadership. The office is totally dysfunctional, with Greg Willis’s and his first assistant’s behavior getting them sued for sexual harassment. Very toxic situation. They play favorites with certain prosecutors, who aren’t held responsible for anything, and, as a result, you can’t get them to work. You can’t get any prosecutor in the office to answer the phone. It’s very frustrating. I would hate to be the victim of a crime, and have to count on this office to seek justice for me.
