Law Office Of Stephen S. Cobb

I had a similar experience as Henya Sandhaus (see also reviews for "Cobb & Cobb" it is the same office), a person I know recommended STEPHEN S. COBB for a traffic ticket, but turns out he is very irresponsible and unprofessional, his office is a mess and his personnel does not speak English well, yet they handle sensitive information that must be clearly understood. I had submitted the ticket to court myself, and had pleaded not guilty, and already had a court date. I went to his office with a copy of the ticket and the letter I received which indicated the court date. He was not there, but a lady received payment and told me he would attend. I signed a document which authorized him specifically (although he would later send his wife). The day before the court date I called to make sure he would attend and she the same lady I had seen the day I went, confirmed to me that he would represent me, although I never had a the chance to meet him or talk to him. Two months went by and I didn't hear anything, I called several times and several different women picked up, one who was a rude lawyer saying she had nothing to do with it and I had to call back. Finally, a lady whose English or Spanish I could not understand (turns out she is Brazilian and is the wife of the lawyer, and supposedly a lawyer herself), said she had sent a letter to me indicating the results, but that she incorrectly had sent it to the wrong apartment number two months ago! Although I had indicated when I filled out the form they gave me, that I wanted all information mailed to my PO Box Address (in any case!). To make the story short, she kept promising she would email and text the latter to me and never did. It took me like a week calling every day to get a call back from the lawyer who denied anybody had told me his wife had sent the letter to the wrong address! They finally sent me the letter, which wrongfully stated that I had pleaded guilty of passing a white line and hence he was able to "reduce" it to 2 points and I had to pay a a fine" (which was due two months ago)! I had to go to court myself to deal with the mess. I suspected that it had not been him who had handled the case given the mediocre results and the messy, incorrect process, so when I asked the clerk at court to confirm to me who had appeared she said it had been his wife!!!! Not him! At all times they make you think it is him! The wife, whose English I suppose the judge also must have had a hard time understanding, accepted and signed what was presented to her by the prosecutor (instead of actually fighting for my ticket rights, and the fact that I had unfairly received a ticket to which I had pleaded NOT guilty). This lady has no clue about what she goes to court for, what she writes on letters or what address she sends them to. I would NOT recommend this lawyer to anybody. He is irresponsible, lies and misrepresents. I now have to go through the hassle of writing this review and filing a complaint against him with the corresponding organizations that deal with bad lawyers. Know that we as clients have rights, and anybody who deals with an unethical lawyer and who lacks integrity and is unable to represent you properly is entitled to file a complaint (make sure you do!).
