Hired Mr. Mitchell to represent me in a show cause hearing regarding a protective order a vindictive and troubled woman filed for against me. To be clear there was nothing EVER a rational person could construe as threatening. On the stand when asked if I had ever threatened her she answered no and that the reason she was afraid of.me.was because she "knows how strong I am and I own a gun. This should have been a slam dunk but Mr. Mitchell was utterly incompetent. He failed to cross examine all of the evidence which consisted of nothing more than cherry picked lines.from letters I sent the woman 6 months earlier. None of which were remotely threatening and in fact the bulk of the correspondence was inquiring about her well being. He waived any closing argument because he was in no condition to make a coherent argument. He fell asleep in the courtroom before the trial started. He couldn't button his own pants after using the restroom. He slurred so bad when speaking that both myself and the plaintiff had to ask him to repeat himself because we couldn't understand him. He never once contacted me outside of court or informed me of anything he needed. He charged me $2k plus $250 for "expenses" like couriers. He had no strategy, he didn't subpoena anything so I'm guessing the $250 was drinking money. This man screwed me over so bad leaving with no money to hire a real attorney. I called him the day before the 1st continuance date and asked if we still had court. He answered "not that I'm aware of". Shouldn't your attorney know if you have court? He told me not to worry about it and to call him around 10 am the next day. My hearing was at 830am and he didn't show. 45 minutes later after the court contacted him he showed up and requested another continuance to get my medical records which were irrelevant to the case. I would have done far better pro se. Absolutely the worst excuse for an educated.professional I've ever seen. Will be filing a grievance with the Texas Bar Association. Avoid at all cost.

I used this man many times and for the most part from the start it was good. but then i paid him 2000 up front to fight a case and file papers, well I ended up not needing his services but now he REFUSES to return my money. HE WONT EVEN SEND PART. Very Very poor customer service. Wont Even Return Phone calls, nothing... Ill be going to the State Bar to file a complaint. I WISH I NEVER GAVE THIS MAN MY MONEY

I was in an accident in 2010 and was injured and ended up having to go to Texas health clinic for therapy for over a month and a half and salam and associate's approaches me at Texas health to file a claim for me to recover my medical bills and file a law suit which they did and then they turned my case over to Mr.Mitchell to represent me in which was an open and shut case at the most.(I was passenger in a vehicle sitting still at a light, waiting for the light to turn green and we were hit in the back by a mustang with two teenagers full force and the teen's received a citation for failure to maintain control of their vehicle. The teens had insurance and Mr. Steven Mitchell assured me that he had taken over the case and everything would be ok, all my medical bills etc and that all of my injuries to my back and neck would be compensated for in full. Then he kept on going on vacations and putting my case off and totally neglecting my case forever and then has the audacity to call me one day and want me to drop the case(with me still to this day having a big knot in the back of my neck that I'm sure won't ever go away) and that he was going to pull out of the case! I guess he figured their wasn't enough money that he could make out of it and just to hell with this old 60 yr. old man that he was representing and somehow he weaseled his way out of it(which I understand is totally illegal) and I to this day still have an injured neck and was totally humiliated by this person who calls himself a lawyer and I never got my medical bills paid or anything. I personally think that he should be held liable for his inconsideration and totally unprofessional services and should be barred from the State of Texas to practice here or anywhere else. He wasted 5 years of my life procrastinating my case and I even wrote the judge over the case insisting that he not let this attorney bow out after representing me for so long.
