When I was going through my divorce Cynthia and her assistant took a retainer of $2,500. During our first meeting she had me in tears and said to make sure to save up all my money. Her assistant was texting the entire time. Then another employee came in and they talked about her daughters dance performance and shared pictures. I felt as if my case was a joke. I asked for my retainer back so I could find another attorney. Instead they billed me for $3,600 for a meeting that accomplished nothing. I do not recommend Cynthia Lakeman. She is clearly only for the money.

Darlene, After reading your review I had to write my own. Cynthia Lakeman took my son's criminal case in 2003. just like you, she had me and my mother in tears. She seemed to have felt our pain and desperation. She promised to treat my son like her own and work her very best to help him. We gave her all the money we had and she was willing to accept a piece of land from my son's fathers parents. Well let me tell you, in about 4yrs that my son stood waiting for an outcome, she visit one time! She lost and brushed away evidence, in which could have helped my son, because to her it was useless. We had to fire her before it went to trial. My son ended having to take a 13 1/2 yr plea. I do not recommend her!!

Cynthia was a wonderful attorney. She was direct and honest with me. She helped me in a case that seemed hopeless and now I have a chance to live my life not behind bars because of her help. THANK YOU CYNTHIA!

THIS IS A WARNING ,I have had Cynthia on my case for 2 years in polk county and i will say she is great in the depo room but thats all , that being said i do not recommend her for anything at all , im stuck her , she's court appointed and after this last 5 months in jail waiting on her to do a bond reduction and the first 10 months in jail waiting on her to do a bond reduction i am broke losing my home and still on a gps monitor and my life is littery distoryed, I have ask her time and time again , at least 30 times ,to file a motion to suppress a 3.190 ,i have given her the grounds 36 pages of grounds, i have even gone as far as writing the motion myself and filing it but she would not adopt it but she refuses to do it herself even thoe she has everything she needs and has for 18 months . She will work against you, she will pressure you to take deals when you are the victim , she will work with the state . THIS IS A WARNING .

She is the most unprofessional attorney I have ever met in my life. She is not a compassionate person. She undermines all of the professionals around her and she has no class at all. She talks loud and over everyone in order to make sure no one can be heard with their truths. Please don’t waste your time or money with her. As you can see from the reviews- she HAS NOT ONE GOOD ONE. I’m not surprised. I hate that I can’t give her zero stars.
