Law Offices of Dennis P. Block

Reviews

A bit of a wait on the phone, but it's hard to complain about free consultation. Associate gave me sound advice and was honest about what I could expect if I retained their services. I highly recommend!
Tried several times to contact them ....finally got through ....After waiting for about 20 minutes like a fortune 500 company. I finally was able to talk to a fairly incompetent lawyer who didn’t know much about the case and hung up on me mid sentence. I understand that an evection law firm isn’t going to attract Harvard’s top talent but it doesn’t cost anything to just be professional and kind. I didn’t think that was something they needed to teach at law school but apparently for the block employees they need a little review on their manners.
Dennis Block and his associates are a group of incompetent, unethical, and unprofessional attorneys. No one in the office has any idea what is going on with your case. They have a different attorney answer the phone each time you call. They did absolutely nothing to represent me in my case. They sent an attorney to the hearing who was completely unfamiliar with the case and the issues. To them, your case is just a number and they don’t care about any specific facts. This firm is a mill and all they care about is the quantity of cases they bring in. I would highly recommend going with one of the many other landlord attorneys in Los Angeles. I had them prepare a settlement agreement for me and gave them a list of specific terms that should be included in the agreement. They failed to include the terms in the agreement, and as a result, opposing counsel was no longer willing to add the term in after we brought the missing term to their attention. Essentially, I lost my rights in the settlement as a result of Dennis Block’s incompetence as an attorney. To make matters worse, their office tried to charge me twice for the same exact hearing. He sent me 3 letters threatening to sue me for not paying for the same hearing twice. After I called him and explained to him how incompetent he was, he agreed to reverse the charge. If you want an attorney who will breach his ethical duties to you, and an attorney who won’t know anything about your case, Dennis Block is your man!
After 9 years the company is collecting the intetest of $3800. The landlord ask them not to garnish anymore as i moved & only live there 4 months paid rent & 2 months deposit. They will not get the money Brandon says cannot be as the case is now theirs. I asked why now after 9 years stated because it will almost 10 years interest would not be this much. He insist.
Didn't hate the place. Just the person I spoke with confused me
