My wife and I had to unfortunately go through one of the toughest financial situation of our marriage. But fortunately we found the office of Mayer &Newton. They have been so nice, polite, and accommodating. From the sweet ladies that sit up front to the typist, and even John, our lawyer, they made us feel like family and reassured us that we would make it through. I honestly appreciate everyone here. If you find yourself needing financial assistance, you can not find a better staff.
This law office is 2nd to none everyone in this office has helped me through my chapter 13,in which I have discharged! Throughout the past 5 yrs,any questions I may of had,in which there was many, everyone helped me getting the info I needed. I would highly recommend Mayer and newton to any and everyone. They are the best at their business . I wish there was a button on here to give them a 10 star rating. Thank you again!
This practice is amazing from the front office staff to the lawyers. They were amazing and made a tough situation much easier. They were with me every step of the way and made sure I understood everything completely. I was treated with the upmost respect by everyone, Mr Ray was my attorney but I also met with Mr Newton who was equally great. Can’t say enough about this group if you’re in need of help, consultation is free so you can weight your options pressure free.
Richard Mayer is extremely easy to talk to, down to earth, and will listen to your concerns as well as tell you exactly what to expect. He is willing to receive and answer emails and responds to them quickly. The office staff is very friendly and welcoming. Everyone, including the attorneys will treat you with respect. Although this is a difficult time in your life and a very big decision to consider, you will feel at ease if this is the best decision for you and Richard will help you figure that out with the best options for you.
I tell my full story, both relate to those going through this humbling process, and to tell you how pleased I am with Mayer and Newton. I began my humiliating journey to bankruptcy at another firm, only to be gravely ashamed, and unimpressed. I, for months, delayed pursuing a bankruptcy, thinking I could manage to make payments somehow. I had just returned to work after a prolonged illness that left me jobless. Like many Americans, my health insurance was tied to my job. I was barely well and hoping I could rally and start working three jobs again. I nearly thought I wasn't going to make it emotionally during that time.I have heard of people ending their lives, I had too much to live for, mainly my children. Poor things, they worried so much, I put them through heck I am a nurse, and for me, this was the most ironic disaster I could have ever imagined. I could never foresee a prolonged illness that kept this nurse from working. I had worked three jobs for most of my career. I was a critical care nurse, a professor of critical care for a major university, and I worked in a Doctors office on the side. I was planning to get my Doctorate, and I had just started a charity for the homeless. Then I got sick. I had to stop working for the safety of my patients, which is ethically very important to me. I could not go back until I was at least 100% mentally and 70% physically. I couldn't eat or sleep for 12 months,... yes a year. I lost 40 lbs, ...my brain was lo longer working because of lack of sleep and lack of blood sugar. I went through so many tests and medications. Every time thinking "ok this is going to be the thing that fixes me". It took 6 doctors and 16 months to finally get a diagnosis and appropriate treatment, then another 6 months to get physically strong enough to walk stairs. I never thought this would happen to me. I was a athlete all my adult life, I lifted weights and did yoga, and suddenly I couldn't walk a half a mile. I didn't know who this was. Bankruptcy has been far the most shameful thing that has ever happened to me. Mayer and Newton made me feel like a good human again. There was no judgment. Mr. Mayer got down to brass tax, we did a budget, and the plan was set to help me pay some of my debt back at a significantly reduced rate. Everyone in the office was incredibly responsive and supportive. Every single employee, Lawyer, paralegal was the utmost compassionate and professional. I wish all Tennessee Lawyers were as stellar. Every step of the way they held my hand. I even offered to pay their fees in a lump sum. Mr. Mayer denied it. He told me "put it in an emergency fund". I cried tears of joy. I had been living on the edge, not able to afford my needed medications, and trying to be frugal as I could with essentials, like food. I couldn't spend money on my kids for christmas and Birthdays, it broke my heart. I had to put a hold on the charity I was running, I was funding most of it. I even emailed Mr. Mayer on a weekend, and he promptly emailed me back to reassure me every thing was handled. Those that are going through this process, seek Mayer and Newton. You cannot go wrong, and I AM SO GLAD I DID
