Lawrence Mulligan handled my primary residence real estate closing in 2003. After several delays, which he had blamed the sellers for causing, Mr. Mulligan asked me if I were certain that I wanted to continue with the closing. I thought this to be an unusual question but did not think for a minute that my attorney was misrepresenting my interest in the property. When we finally reached our closing, Mr. Mulligan suggested that we close in separate offices from the sellers as they were deemed by him to be irrational and combative. Assuming Mr. Mulligan was acting in our best interest, we agreed to using separate offices for our closing. Had we not closed in separate offices, we would have learned of his inappropriate and dishonest activity with respect to our real estate transaction. My wife and I could not understand why this closing was so difficult and expensive ($23,000 for a single family home due to "uncooperative sellers" we were told by Mr. Mulligan). nBy the time we had learned that the delays in closing were being caused by Mr. Mulligan and NOT the sellers, we sought legal advice to see if we had recourse and were told that the statute of limitations had expired and we had no legal recourse. nQuite a bitter pill to swallow but hopefully this post will prevent a similar outcome from happening again to someone else. I was naive in having complete trust in my attorney. Never expected that he was not looking out for my best interests. nHe also did my wife's and my wills which I'm uncertain of their validity. nShould you decide to proceed with his legal services, be extremely careful and proceed with the utmost of caution!!nnwanted
