Why this facility uses a rip off service like Inmate Canteen for inmate communications, commissary etc. I have no idea. An $8.95 service fee is a scam and so are the cost of phone calls from this facility. No one can afford this and it does nothing to promote communication with families- it's just taking advantage of a vulnerable population. Also, Leavenworth has one of the worst websites I've ever seen and it does not list inmate information. Get with the times.

Recently having the misfortune to be a guest of the Leavenworth County Jail, I must commend the Deputies, behavioral health and medical personnel for the excellent care I was provided. Being a service connected disabled Vietnam Veteran and the special needs I require for everyday living I was accommodated as best they could. For that I thank y'all dearly.

Worst place I've ever stayed with very rude staff! Had a good meal at the private function then entered in to the lounge area where my room was reserved and was met by the rudest staff member I've ever come across.

Because they lock up my family members!!????

Jail is never a fun
