I wish I could rate a Zero for this place and its services. This place and its services are nothing short of a joke. Working with Lauren McNabb proved to be an incredibly negative experience, one that I believe to be the worst anyone could endure. She was virtually unreachable, and it took her a month to respond to a text message. Furthermore, she questioned our motives for wanting to meet her in person. I was assisting a non-English speaking individual who was a victim of domestic violence, and it was later discovered that Ms. McNabb agreed to a settlement without the client's knowledge. This realization only came to light after we engaged the services of a private attorney. I deeply wish we had been aware of this situation earlier. My heart goes out to this family, and it pains me to emphasize the complete lack of effectiveness of Legal Aid of West Michigan.

Friendly receptionist. They have an application that you must fill out. That is an income based assessment. If they can't help everyone, it isn't their fault. They get payment for services through donations and such. Therefore, only so much can be done.

Waste of time unless your of a different race other than white. Can't get help with a landlord tenant issue and basically told to deal with being threatened and my families life being threatened by another tenant. Landlord says if I don't like it I can move. So tried to get help with LL violating my lease. I'm the wrong race apparently.

Is a joke i can't believe the lawyer from this place don't defend your case i call and message so many times to the legal aid about my lawyer not doing her job no respond my ex husband hit me last year is already 7 months the lawyer did not do nothing to defend me now i understand why so many women going back to the partners and end dead thank you legal aid for not helping me i Don't why the government is paying this people i lost everything i work for more than 20 years is so sad ???? victims have to deal with lawyer from this place because we don't have no money to pay for private lawyer the lawyer they give me was the worse UPDATE , i call Jason last week on Thursday June 22 2023 he doesn't even call me back yet my case is so messed up,. The perpetrator did not get charged because i never met with the prosecutor. Know why,? My ,legal aid lawyer Lorraine McNabb did not communicate to me that the prosecutor office wanted to talk to me! I even asked numerous times if i need to be at the trial. She said no every time. I am just now finding out about this. I am livid. The lawyers legal aid has representing domestic violence victims are most definitely not trained in that area. Numerous times, Lorraine McNabb would seem to stick up for my abusive ex, saying he's trying , etc. I am going to speak to whoever i need to to stop this from happening to a tone else..

Some of the workers are very helpful other are just annoyed by the site of ppl
