A friend hired Chris for $7,500 to defend on a possession charge where the police illegally entered, served an I'll gotten search warrant absent the affiant and mixed up the names of all people involved AND literally had scratch outs on their statements. Chris didn't spend more than 1 minute talking to the DA and came back telling my friend to take the year offered. My friend said no and asked about all of the above mentioned questionable police tactics and Chris had no idea what he was talking about (because he never read into the case, nor did he take any notes during preliminary meeting). Back at court the next time Chris spent even less time and suggested taking the year again. Mean on a related case, my public defender, while citing the things I mentioned above, had the charges dropped and in so doing the charges against my friend were dropped also. Chris of course wasn't even aware of any of this until a few days later, but presented it as if he was the reason for the nolle p. Perhaps at one point he was fluent in law and maybe had the drive to provide results comparable to his rates, PERHAPS. If so that day was long ago, and now Chris is an over rated option for defense that will do far less than any public defender will. PS Chris speaks at, not with you. Probably from his pov of him being greater than the rest of world (especially his clients). TL;DR waste of money. Get a better lawyer or if nothing else a public defender.
We hired Mr. Chris townley for a dui case in which I passed three of four sobriety tests and the only two things being held against me were not admissible in court. He lost the case. Best part is when it comes down to the final statement in court you always want to let the prosecutor make his final statement first so that your defense attorney can defend you against their statement. Well my oh so bright defense attorney spoke up and said he would like to make his final statement first. Worst lawyer on the market. If you're going to use this law firm save yourself some money and plead guilty.
