All I can say is wow. I am going through a really bad divorce and Ms. Serrano and her awesome team have done an amazing job with my case. They made me feel confident that they where going to do there job. They did everything to protect my rights and continue to do so. Thanks to all the staff that has helped me through this process! When my mother passed away, her surviving spouse was given a "life estate", giving him the right to live in the property that my mother had intended for her daughters. My mother's "linear descendants" (myself and my sister) would then inherit the property outright upon her spouse's passing. I made the mistake of contacting this law firm because I wanted to make sure that nothing illegal had been done by my mother's spouse that could jeopardize the title to the property. I was charged $250.00. When I was finally able to find a buyer for the home, two days prior to closing, the title company handling the transaction contacted me to inform me of two encumbrances/liens on the title - something that I was not informed of by this law firm. I've attempted to contact Julio Marrero because I believe that I should be refunded my money, but to no avail. I guess the law firm is really in need of the $250. Lesson: BEWARE This is in reply to the law firm's inept reply to my post. Surprisingly enough, it only took about 30 minutes for them to reply to this while my several outreach efforts to the law firm have been ignored. I have written proof of the service that I requested. And for this firm to say that I hired them to remove the life estate, is their poor effort at mixing and mincing words (since I did in fact pay an extra $25.00 to record the death certificate to have the NAME removed from the property appraiser's site). In essence, then, the law firm has admitted to charging $250 for something that is common legal knowledge that had no need to be investigated. I am truly embarrassed for them. Shameful. Again, BEWARE. They are obviously in need of the $250. And to whomever wrote the poorly written reply: - take note: For you to say that I hired the law firm to remove the life estate simply shows what little knowledge you have of the law, since the life estate ends with the passing of the person. Keep talking so that all prospective clients can see the type of law firm that Marrero, Chamizo, Marcer Law, LP is.
