I am leary of positive reviews that author only write one or two reviews. So many reviews aren't real, sadly. I interviewed many attorneys, all ones that I heard were good. This one wanted the most money, many were free to consult that I called. I went here anyway because he is knowledgeable, I saw him speak at a seminar. I noticed he is very chummy with the district lawyers, tje adversaroes for many of us parents, but thought whats wrong woth that? So I paid out the large sum to consult him. I was impressed by the fact that they wanted all my records to review before the consultation. I am so ashamed to have wasted so much money on this ridiculous consultation that was worse than all the free consults other attorneys provide! The head lawyer left tje meeting and came back to tell me he called my district! He didn't ask my permission. I felt liked he worked for them instead of me! I felt so betrayed. I wasn't even sure I was going to use him, it was only an expensive consultation. There was no trust after that. The consultation was worse than the no charge attorneys and I have no clue why they asked for my files. I did not have the impression they were even touched. So many lawyers want a lot of money just to wheel and deal instead of work. Since the districts have more money than the average parent, even wealthy ones, the freindships lawyers make can go either way. I have my suspicions about all this and decided steering clear was best. I recommend speak to several different attorneys before shelling out or agreeing to spend large sums of money. I found a good lawyer referred to me by a parents advocacy organization. No charge for that consultation, much better results. Many great attorneys who cost less too. The saying, "You get what you pay for", does not apply here for me.
We have been working with MLO for the past 11 years. They helped us with everything from setting up a special needs trust to Wills to IEP meeting representation. They have always been the utmost professionals with my daughters best interest at the forefront of every meeting or service. Thank you to all at MLO for making at times a stressful situation a very manageable one and for always giving great advice and legal representation. Amy C
