I only was recommended to this man from someone else. The service was just ok because this man does not try to actually help you beat your case, he simply took the first plea deal that was offered. Was pretty upset about this giving how much I paid this man for poor service. I’m confident anyone could find better representation for half the price I paid.

All the good reviews here are clearly fake and paid for (count the “thumbs up” on the negative reviews vs the fake positives...the math is easy). That should be your first warning flag. Beyond that...lets talk reality now. There is something very incestuous between this guy and the “impartial” Cabarrus court judges. Bottom Line: If you make the mistake of hiring this “I went to Syracuse Law School Bro!” frat-flunky, he WILL encourage you to plead guilty, NO MATTER THE CASE! Believe me... I went to court over 7 times waiting for a trial...(date kept getting kicked down the road)....all those hours and hours and days and days watching other cases...I witnessed him act on behalf of his many varied clients...When he stood up, he offered only one of two arguments to the judge....Either: 1. WE PLEAD GUILTY (and ask for the “insider special” sentence...which doesn’t affect him...but sure as hell affects the client and the client’s family forever!)...or...2. Ask to move the hearing to a future date. Shameful and a travesty. He should not be acting as a “defense” attorney, nor should he receive compensation as such. He has not, will not, and shall not act in the best interest of his clients. His job is to push through guilty verdicts; garnering huge fines for the county and screwing over his clients with a life sentence of a criminal record. He has never garnered an innocent verdict for his clients. 100% guilty record...for a DEFENSE attorney...seriously?!!!...What the.... UPDATE: Apparently now he is also under investigation for ethics violations and fraud...no surprise. Syracuse University has also become aware. Stay tuned...and stay away.

Chris represented me extremely well and helped me to stay calm throughout the process. Worth every penny especially since he got the case dismissed!

I have been working with Chris Mccartan as my lawyer for 11 years now and he is the best, hands down.My father, my sister, my brother-in-law, and many of my friends work with Chris as well. He really puts all of his time and energy into his cases and he is great with communication. I have NEVER been disappointed with his work, nor have I heard disappointing reviews from those I associate with. If you need someone to represent you, give him a try!!

What an absolutely AWFUL experience - would give 0 stars if I could!! Very unprofessional, rude and dishonest "defense lawyer". If you think that getting arrested, bailing yourself out of jail and going to court is a nightmare - you haven't dealt with Chris MCcartan! This "lawyer" will tell you everything you want to hear during your consultation about how he will resolve your case, seek a dismissal etc... yet will put in ZERO effort to resolve your case once you've paid him. I have never experienced such disregard and apathy from another human being in my life, especially from someone who has been paid LOT OF MONEY for representation. Instead of being helpful and being on your side (like a defense lawyer is supposed to be), Chris will ARGUE with you and talk in circles about your case when asked for details (never appeared to have much interest in my case & always appeared either drunk and/or high on some drug when speaking to). You will be left in the dark about your case - that's guaranteed. Forget about any sort of communication and being kept up to date... It's almost impossible to get a hold of Chris once you become an (un)valued client of his. The only thing this "lawyer" cares about is taking his clients for as much money as possible. Save your money and defend yourself, or hire an actual defense lawyer. Whatever you do - DO NOT HIRE this incompetent mess of a lawyer!!
