Over the last year Mellinger Law has represented me legally and guided me through a series of projects. With their guidance, I have renegotiated my residential mortgage, and contracted with one firm for replacement of my windows, doors, and skylights. With another company, I have negotiated and contracted to replace much of my roof. And with still a third company, I have planned and committed to installation of a full solar system for our house. Each of these transactions involved different legal entities, negotiation, and legal contracts. With all four transactions, I have worked with Darin Mellinger and his colleague attorney Terry Colavecchio in Darin's firm. Primarily, I have dealt with Terry, but on a few occasions and for the mortgage closing, I have worked with Darin. And I have also had extensive dealings with their office staff. In every single consultation and discussion, I have found both Darin and Terry superbly competent, patient, professional, and personable. They advised me on selecting a mortgage broker and the other three contractors, and what to accept and what to challenge in contracts. Their professionalism and experience have been indispensable. The last year has been exceptionally difficult through the coronavirus pandemic. Darin and Terry and their staff have appropriately observed all safety protocols for health, including when we had to meet in person for closing on the new mortgage. Over the course of my long life, I have dealt with numerous law firms, literally all over the world. Many have been huge - some with thousands of lawyers - and well-regarded. None have been more competent in their respective fields than Darin Mellinger and Terry Colavecchio and their firm. I’m not happy with the services I received from Mr. Darin Mellinger. I hired him to review a lease for me and he did so very carelessly without giving it very much thought or giving me any suggestions on how to negotiate for better terms. I later found an article online that was a lot more helpful. Unfortunately it was too late at this point and I was forced to live with the consequences.
