When I was faced with an unexpected health crisis Monk Law Firm went above and beyond to help me get my paperwork in order before my surgery. Recently I had the privilege to collaborate with Kristin Whitten, BSW and Elder Advocate/Social Worker for Monk Law Firm, to transition their client from rehab to assisted living. As the owner of a senior move management company, I was amazed that a elder law firm had such a position to help in this way. Their client did not have any family in the area to advocate for them ("Solo Ager"). Since his POA lived in NY, and not in good health, Kristin was in charge of making all of the arrangements. This included locating an appropriate assisted living, overseeing the discharge from the re-hab. along with engaging our relocation services. Kristin's expertise and oversight was spot on in making sure the clients medical, social and financial needs were all considered. This transition happened quickly and Kristin was able to navigate all the necessary services needed and communicated with the clients POA every step of the way.
