I was overcharged for a subscription in August, $50 instead of $30. Their error. I called and spoke with a rep and they asked if I would like the $20 on my CC or $20 towards my Nest account. Since we were adding another camera I said sure, credit my Nest account for when I add my 3rd camera and I will use it towards the subscription. Added my 3rd camera and NO CREDIT!! I chatted online and the rep said "oh no, no credit. We just will use your $20 for when your other camera subscription is due NEXT YEAR". Nope. Filed complaint with Attorney Generals office, BBB. I'm doing my Google review and will post this all over Yelp and Social Media along with the unhelpful joke of a chat I had this evening. HORRIBLE customer service AWFUL!! They took my money and lied! Definitely calling my bank!! We returned the camera we just purchased and removed the others this evening.

The first Nest 3 was installed in July 2018. It lasted 3 days. In that time, I spent about 3 hours on the phone with increasing levels of tech support, only to be told in the end that the unit was defective. Nest sent a replacement.nThis one has lasted about 3 months. Now, again after several hours on the phone and in emails with tech support (most of whom were very good), Nest has determined that this unit is now defective and they are sending a replacement. nThe biggest consequence arising from the defects is that the unit and the PC application display information that is not accurate. So, you cannot rely on the unit to tell you what is really going on in your house when you are absent. Your house temp could be 100 degrees or 4 degrees, but the unit could be telling you that all is well. I certainly have absolutely no confidence in the reliability of the Nest.nIt looks great and the tech support people for the most part are very good, but that does not make up for very poor technical reliability.

Not a good company!!! The customer service is a joke. I don't remember them being this bad with my 2nd gen thermostat!! They are lacking big time! When I called this evening they hung up twice and the 3rd time he laughed then hung up. Morons!

Nest is lying to you. When you call the Customer Service it will tell you that someone will respond to you in 10 min. This is a lie. The real person who fixes the problem takes 30 to not at all before you get so frustrated you drop off. I have spent 45 min on hold on the 4th call to try to solve the problem. Total I have seen 3:00 hours trying to solve a problem. If John Moses is still in Charge of Customer Service he should be fired. It is obvious that he has never called into his own department to see what the hell is actually going on. All this is topped off by On hold music that SUCKS.

Bought the Nest outdoor camera as part of the "Father's Day" special. Came with the free 5-day for video history yearly subscription. This never worked properly. After numerous calls to Customer Service and calls with senior technicians they could not fix my subscription for this camera. I could not even delete my subscription even though it was not working! Extremely frustrating and buggy system. Their subscription system is a MESS. I WOULD NOT recommend this service, and it's a shame because the camera does work good, but what good is it without a solid subscription service?
