Filing for bankruptcy was never something that I thought I'd need to do in my life. I've always been known for being sensible, responsible, and hard-working (all of the things society tells you that people who file for bankruptcy are NOT). So I had to swallow a fair amount of pride when life happened and I got in over my head in debt. Kristin and Nik removed any shame I was carrying from the first meeting, and the entire process was SO much less painful and stressful than I was expecting it to be. Their demeanor is professional, yet laid-back, making you feel completely supported and at ease. With the fresh start they gave me, I'm already more financially stable than I was 6 months ago and have had the freedom to start building a profitable new business. Perfectionist overachiever that I've been my entire life, I prided myself on having excellent credit and never asking for help, no matter what crisis life threw at me and how much I started to drown in debt.
