Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney'S Office

This office (namely Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Emily Woodley) has failed in their civic duties to protect the public from violent criminals. After a year and a half of my cooperating with their office they are suddenly refusing to prosecute my ex-boyfriend for breaking two of my teeth. They are also planning on dropping the two misdemeanor assault & battery charges for which he was ALREADY found GUILTY by a judge. Emily Woodley has tried to get me to settle with the defense for money multiple times which is NOT legal for felony charges. I actually turned down a $50,000 offer to drop the charges and sign an NDA. And now her office is refusing to do their their job and prosecute him because they are lazy and inept!

In my opinion, this office has not demonstrated any care for the rights of defendants. I only bsse this on one case in which they have been given evidence to exonerate the defendant but have not withdrawn charges and the innocent defendant remains in jail for a crime he did not commit based on slander and lies from another person. Perhaps there are others out there who have the same experience? It is extremely sad.
