Dr. Ansari & her nurse Siobhan are the absolute best! Dr. Ansari oversaw my care throughout an unexpectedly difficult birth and made me feel so safe throughout the process. She also performed an unrelated laparoscopic surgery I needed. She's an incredibly compassionate doctor and did so much to care for our family, including answering our many, many questions throughout appointments. I've never received such individualized care from an OBGYN or any other doctor. It makes such a difference to have a doctor and nurse who takes the time to understand your specific concerns and priorities - especially during such an important time of life! All of the doctors at the practice are great, so you're in good hands! The ultrasound techs are incredible too, which was so important during those exciting (but nerve-wracking) pregnancy check-ins!

There are a lot of positives about this practice. They are informative, take more time in prenatal appointments to get to know you, and address breastfeeding concerns well. I had my second child with the midwifery team after having a NorthShore OB for my first. Many friends and acquaintances recommended their services, many with lots of positive experiences. My baby is now 8 months old. He is healthy and a source of constant joy. However, I find I am still very frustrated with my birth and afterbirth care experiences. I believe numerous mistakes were made that led to a very challenging recovery, and I think it’s important to share my experience with other prospective clients. I expected to be listened to and believed as the best authority on my body, particularly with a midwife group. When I called after recording contractions 5 mins apart for over an hour, Debi told me she didn't think I was in labor because I "wouldn't sound so jolly." It was the wee hours of Sunday morning and the day before my due date. She suggested I come to the office on Monday to get checked. I was frustrated, but since I was planning for a natural birth I was not in a rush to get to the hospital. I figured as things picked up they would take me more seriously. A few hours later I called again with contractions 2-3 mins apart. This time Gaye said "I think we have some time." I had to say, "No, I think it's time. I will be there within the hour." I arrived at the hospital less than 20 minutes before I was holding my baby in my arms. My midwife was not there when pushing started, arriving just a couple minutes before he was delivered. In the chaos of an emergency delivery team, which was interrupted by Gaye, I was instructed to push as hard and fast as possible without pause (something I have since learned is called purple pushing). My baby was not in distress. I tore a bit top and bottom and had lacerations on the left and right side, one of which broke a blood vessel. I lost about a liter of blood on the table. I blame the pushing counsel I received, at least in part, for this. The blood vessel was not closed up properly, so I got a hematoma. Later that week I also got an infection. I realize the hematoma and infection may just be bad luck, but I can't get away from the thought that if I was there earlier, if my team was there earlier, if it wasn't such a frantic mess of a labor, things would have turned out differently. After the birth, Gaye had the audacity to say “I knew it was time to come in.” I was holding my perfect baby and didn’t want to engage, but I was disgusted. If I had followed her advice I would have had my baby at home, or in the car on the way to the hospital. I could not believe that her need to save face and take care of her ego took priority in that moment. Due to my complicated healing issues I had a very long, very painful healing process. At 9 weeks I was not fully healed but told that I would probably need PT and would possibly be fully healed in a couple more weeks. At 12 weeks I finally went to an OBGYN, instead of the midwives. At that point I was referred to a urogynecologist (not in the practice) for a consult. The urogynecologist advised a surgical repair, which due to breastfeeding and work demands, I was not able to schedule until baby was 6 months old. At 8 months I am now, finally, healed and without pain. I would not recommend this practice because in the moments that really mattered, they did not support me adequately. I made a mistake in trusting them and their care. It is a good reminder that you know your body best and you need to advocate for yourself fiercely, always.

Dr. Saleh and Goodwin took exceptional care of my wife during her pregnancy. Both are extremely intelligent, thorough, compassionate, and caring. The practice itself is wonderful, clean, bright, inviting. The staff and technicians also exhibit high levels of professionalism and compassion and show a true dedication to women’s reproductive health.

I had a wonderful experience using Dr Saleh as my OB during my recent pregnancy. He was nice, confident, and on top of things throughout the whole pregnancy. He gave time to answer all my questions and was reassuring whenever complications came up. He delivered my baby and did a phenomenal job- it was my best labor and delivery experience yet! Thank you so much Dr Saleh!

I have been a patient of Dr. Saleh's sincce 1989. I came to him when he first began in practice. I was just pregnant with my first child. He is very thorough as well as caring and supportive. He delivered my second and third child as well. After getting married, my husband and I moved to Gurnee. I trusted Dr. Saleh so much, I continued to go to him even though his office was all the way in Evanston. He was well worth the trip. To this day, I trust him to take great care of me. I wouldn't want anybody else to take care of my gynecolgical needs. He is a fine man and a fine doctor.
