My son has been red flagged and is denied services!! My son is autistic and had other development disabilities
Worked in this building for a few years. For a downtown location, the setting is nice. Office facility has a decent parking lot fairly close to the building that minimizes the need to walk a lot in the cold. Not being in the more happening part of Albany means limited bus connectivity though there is a 10 minute frequency between a couple of CDTA to get to Lark. There are some restaurants that are within walking distance from the building but none that are really good. A Walgreen across the road is handy. Lawns adjacent to the building a decent fot afternoon stroll and Holland Ave is not too bad for a quick 15 minute walk during the day. Building houses a few state offices and offers an expected environment for a state office.
I had an issue with a reimbursement and they were very attentive and helpful. I cannot say this for all government offices!
The NYSOPWDD was the original state NYS Office of Mental Retardation which responded to requests for a name upgrade!! Thanks for the planning meetings with the NGO sector for community development. Julie Ann Racino, ASPA, HHSA, 2018
