Considering your record as a moderate senator, I’m going to make a suggestion. You would make a very good Independent Senator The Republican party no longer shares your views in many ways as I can see from your record . I was once a Republican, and then I became a Democrat for a short while; but I currently belong to no political party and a few years ago declared myself as an Independent. I support only candidates of strong moral character, experience, and the ability to do a good job for his or her constituents. You fit the bill. Seriously consider declaring yourself an Independent and free yourself from party affiliation.
Whether through stupidity or gullibility, you have changed American history with your Kavanaugh/SCOTUS vote, and look where we are now, honey. Although you'll always be a minor footnote, history will judge you very badly. You've thrown away all those years of service. Do everybody a favor and retire now. You clearly are not capable to lead. You have brought shame on this country. This rests on your shoulders. Quite a legacy.
As a woman, I have never been so proud of a Senator! I watched and listened to Senator Collins statement on the Kavanaugh confirmation. She presented facts in a methodical way, instead of using hysteria, to lay out her case for confirmation. She represented strong, intelligent, thoughtful women across this nation that refuse to be manipulated by anyone pushing emotional buttons. Senator, bravo to you.
I appreciate the excellent speech Susan Collins gave to bring us back to some sense of decorum and sanity in this judicial selection process. She laid out history and precedent and I hope people will read her speech if they have not and consider her measured words. She is a brave woman to take on this deluge of abuse and to expose the possible charges of bribery that may attend actions taken towards her.
Thank you so much for you support of Justice Kavanaugh. I listened to your speech announcing your support and was so impressed with your thoughtful, detailed and reasoned explanation of why he deserved your vote. America doesn't need anymore emotion but it does cry for intellect, composure, dignity and adherence to the rule of law, all of which you exhibited but were missing during the confirmation process for Justice Kavanaugh. Again, I thank you.
