I feel defeated/sad/angry with the consumer affairs division of the ATG's office. There seems to be two legal systems: one for connected people and one for everyone else. If you are being taken advantage of by a business in WA, you won't get much resolve by reporting the problem to the ATG's office. A business could have an entire legal department, while you the consumer have no avenue to say, here are the RCW's that are being violated. The ATG can't connect you to a lawyer. Why do you think marginalized people are so disempowered? Because of dead ends like this! And yes, I understand the ATG's office can't GIVE LEGAL ADVICE, but then point me in the direction of what step I can take next, please. Here is what will happen: ATG takes your written report online. Business has a time period to respond (their response doesn't need to be quality, and they don't even need to respond at all). The ATG office gives the consumer a chance to reply to the business. Then case closed. It becomes public record, and that's about it. The ATG's office doesn't provide legal advice. The law library doesn't provide legal advice. So what point is there to reporting anything at all?
