I had the pleasure of working with Steven Louis-Prescott when the residents in our subdivision were mailed letters from an Oil & Gas Company to lease our mineral rights. Since our section of the oil & gas leasing unit did not include our entire subdivision and we shared the unit with a new residential development, we needed legal representation to navigate through this delicate process. There are many attorneys who work on behalf of the oil & gas companies and few who represent the landowners. We were fortunate to connect with Steven. What we were most impressed with was his great knowledge of the industry and how much we learned from just one meeting. He was willing to work with our entire group at a fair fee and communicated often with us during the negotiations. Steven created an addendum to the Oil & Gas Company’s standard lease that included the specific protections that our group valued. In addition to the addendum, he was able to significantly increase the financial terms of the initial lease offer. The landowners that were part of our group were happy with the results and how this process was accomplished in a timely manner by Steven and his paralegal, Jody. He spoke to us for an hour and provided very reasonable and good advice. He didn't charge us. He was extremely thorough, thoughtful, and caring. Rich Rodriguez did a great job helping us through a sticky commercial lease situation, as well as reviewing and negotiating a lease on a new building.
