I came to see John Pavlas to get legal advice and protection during my divorce. What I did not know is that he was going to take advantage of me and my small savings. He made decisions on my back (saying "it was for your own good, I saved you time and money"), made several mistakes in their invoices, and sent me a bill after all my divorce was finalized when that was not the agreement (and my ex had been taking care of the costs because he knew I had no income). Only after I filed a grievance to the BAR, he said he had "forgiven" me that last bill (!?!?!?) and he had not communicated that to me previously. Even if I documented every single thing to the BAR, they ended up determining that there was no misconduct giving NO explanation. Speaking good English did not help me much this time. I had no idea I had to protect myself from my own lawyer. I could do a lot of noise here but I have other priorities. Beware ladies.
