I hired this paralegal firm to handle a small claims court case for breach of contract. Our original paralegal successfully secured a judgment in our favor. However, after a new paralegal took over the case, things went downhill. She informed me that we couldn't collect the awarded amount because she was unable to locate the defendant’s bank, which wasn’t an issue before. To make matters worse, she billed us for work that had already been completed and even charged for email communication just to get up to speed on the case. Very disappointing experience.

We hired Precision Paralegal for a AGI in support of tenants. Our committee of 4 (tenants) did all the leg work, brought forth case law, advised the second paralegal HEATHER BARNES at the firm that the forms had to filed in Hamilton despite her driving around Burlington at 7pm where there is no court house to file for LTB. Needless to say from that one example, they had no idea how to handle our case yet took our money. The owner MICHELLE HAIG ended up overseeing and working our case but when asked to provide any work hat had been done, we were met with excuses. They didn’t touch our file beyond filing. They ridiculed the committee as one was a paralegal graduate and had more knowledge than the firm. They fired us because we sent the entire file again asking for a first update, and instead of giving courtesy to the committee who oversaw 84 tenants, they sent an email to all to tenants, and the committee had to put out the fire of the stress it caused and assured the tenants we would hire a competent paralegal as a year had passed and it was a mess. Complaints were filed with the law society and its on record for negligence. If you have a small dispute, you’d do better with anyone else or on your own. All talk and no action from the firm and our original paralegal left Precision and went to opposing counsel! Nobody had the courtesy to inform us. Lastly, the Heather Barnes was called out by opposing counsel for not being registered with the law society and she stated she forgot to pay the dues. It showed lack of professionalism and weakened our ability to have negotiating power. Apparently she went on to performing arts as a career. It’s laughable!! They go through paralegals constantly. We were only offered our money paid back in full if we promised not to report or review and we declined because we felt it necessary people be aware of their practices and lack of knowledge (admittedly) and professionalism. We didn’t hire them to learn about AGI’s which is very common on rental units. We put in 100’s of hours of work, they were rude to the committee lead constantly and wanted to argue over nonsense to avoid discussing how they intended to approach the case. They forgot meetings we scheduled with our 4 working committee members, showed no remorse, not once had any advice or approach or even speak to the case law and our evidence given over and over. Just excuses. So many personal problems given as excuses for neglect. The constant texts and emails of “rate our service” at all hours of the night were insult to injury as they did NOTHING with our file and we did the work. We sent our file which we spent much time organizing and providing proof, photos, etc and was asked for the file to be sent 4 times! We struck a deal with the first paralegal as it was start of Covid (over $3500 and 10% of T4 winnings), so business May have been slow. Michelle ignorantly told us she charges much much more as if we should have been grateful she was the 4th staff member involved and as an owner, she should have had respect and never said that as she couldn’t back it up anyway as she admittedly knew nothing about AGI’s but was excited to learn. We were worried, not something we want to hear when 84 tenants are fighting to lower the AGI and have maintenance done as leverage. We handed the case on a silver platter. The spelling errors from emails Heather sent to the opposing counsel were embarrassing, sent from iPhone with no signature, and again was working without a renewed licence! I would be weary that any of the 5 stars are real when all the 1 stars have similar experiences. While she prides herself on her business, she should be ashamed for the duress she put clients under. I don’t believe the 5 starts for Heather while she worked there to be true. Her lack of knowledge and experience was obvious to all. Beware!

Caution! Don't use their services. I decided to self represent and still waiting for my file since July 2024. I had money left in retainer which was not returned. Duplicate information provided over 3 years and limited action moving forward. All they do is ask for more money. I went through 5 people handing my file and I doubt anyone who took over read my file and/or notes to take appropriate action. Even Michelle Haigh emailed me with what she was going to do but never did anything nor contacted me about the result. Months later they asked me "what do you want to do with your file?" I will be reporting them to the Law Society. Don't assume everything you read on their website is awesome. Personally I believe it's propaganda to get you as a client. I wish I had looked at their reviews before hiring them. Big mistake on my part.

Totally unprofessional. I have filed a complaint with the Law Society. They are completely unresponsive - in spite of several calls and emails, Michelle Haigh rarely responds and when she does respond she does not give definitive answers, only excuses for being 'unresponsive'. In the past 3 years, she has either been on holidays, had personal problems, moved away...the excuses are endless. She will also not call you when she promises she will. If you need to go to small claims, do yourself a favour and find another firm or represent yourself. I don't understand how she is even in business.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this law firm. Not only did they do a poor job handling my case, but it was also clear that they were more interested in wasting time to collect money rather than achieving any meaningful results. It was abundantly clear from the outset that they knew my case was not a winning one, yet they still accepted it just to extract as much money as possible from me. Even more frustratingly, in the middle of the proceedings, another lawyer confirmed that my case was not winnable. It was already too late by then since I had already retained this law firm. Despite this, they kept pestering me with calls and emails requesting documents that had already been submitted on the retaining day. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, and it was apparent that their only goal was to keep repeating themselves and collect more money. To add insult to injury, the lawyer assigned to my case was working on an affidavit, and even though it required only a minor adjustment, he doubled the hours on the invoice. I felt cheated and taken advantage of, and I would never recommend this law firm to anyone looking for legal representation. They are only interested in taking advantage of their clients and should be avoided at all costs. Furthermore, I sent multiple complaints to the law firm regarding my experience and requested a review of the invoices, but they completely ignored me. It's concerning that they would brush off their clients' concerns and continue to behave in such a dishonest and unprofessional manner. I urge anyone seeking legal representation to avoid this law firm at all costs. Their behavior is unacceptable, and they clearly have no respect for their clients or their clients' hard-earned money.
