Communication was absurdly poor. Reached out 6 months ago with serious interest to retain. After a week of calls no consultation was granted. Tried again now that I have an immediate need for representation. Was told to wait another week. I did. (12 lawyers now tell me that was horrible advice) I then spent the next week playing phone tag and begging to pay a retainer and begin the process in court. I’ve been told daily I would have my calls returned the same day and it did not happen a single time. I was warned about this from both current and former clients of theirs who were or are committed to them. Although their needs are painfully slowly being met they feel stuck with them and wish they had gone another route. In a way I dodged a bullet but I’ve also lost time trying desperately to have them represent me. I was not treated with the dignity and respect of a father trying to see his only daughter.

I am beyond grateful for the representation of Kendyll Clayton. She has provided me with sound legal support based on countless years of experience. I’ve had good attorneys and bad ones. This particular office is a nightmare. After one year of retaining, I still have yet to meet with attorney. Be smart and spend your $7500 elsewhere. One month later from this review and checking in. My review (above) still stands. Since leaving this review, I have yet to still be contacted by attorney regarding my case and my hearing is in 3 days! So pretty much I am going to a hearing and not knowing what to do, if my attorney will be there, what to say, etc. Kendyll Clayton won’t acknowledge me despite numerous emails and phone calls. Her own paralegals even admit that she is way in over her head and has major incompetence especially in the communication area. You can tell they both feel bad and don’t know what to do. I feel bad for them for having to even work for her. Imagine going through a divorce, having a court date in 3 days and not hearing from your attorney in MONTHS with no advice or plan. If this all sounds good to you, this is the firm to go to! If you would like to actually feel represented and not ignored, DO NOT GO HERE. 3rd update ** Kendyll has now relieved herself of counsel and postponed my court date (without any consent or contacting me). Email is now blocked and will not reply to numerous messages and emails concerning my refund. Beware of this firm.

We came into this custody battle without a clue of how to handle it. We looked for an attorney that fit, one that really made us feel like they were going to handle our case as if it was their own and after meeting with two lawyers already, third time was the charm because Kendyll made us feel exactly that way! Kendyll was professional but down to earth, from the way she spoke to us to the way she handled our case it was always amazing. She made us feel like she was working WITH us not FOR us and that made a huge difference in feeling confident going into our custody hearing. I can honestly say I know exactly why she came so highly recommended. She knew her stuff, she was knowledgeable in every aspect of what she spoke about, she was also honest which is something we really needed regardless of wanting to hear it or not. Excellent when it comes to results for sure. No doubt the best trial attorney you will find in this county . Try to be patient throughout the journey because he certainly won't hold your hand throughout the process so put your trust in his ability to get results and don't get hung up on his style or revolving door of assistants because it might throw you off a bit. I've seen him in action and I can tell you..........when it's time for him to step in ......you'll see why you hired him. Steve is definitely who you want representing you . I've hired him a second time so lets see if my review stays consistent as the challenge has changed some; but I am confident he's the man you want in your corner .
