Called asking to discuss results and disability claim information. Two weeks later and still no call back. Just a cold letter. Not to mention I arrived for my appointment on time and walked into his office. He was on his computer and asked me to wait outside. He had me waiting for 20 minutes past our appointment time while in GI discomfort. Just a very cold person overall.

I have never written a review like this before, but I am appalled by the way I was treated by Dr. Richard Rosenberg and his office staff. I called in July to schedule an appointment and was told that the first available appointment was in September. I understood that doctors have busy schedules and said that September would be fine. I arrived for my 9AM appointment on September 17th, 10 minutes early. I signed in at the desk and was told to take a seat. At 9:10, I went to the front desk and asked if Dr. Rosenberg knew I was here. I was told that the doctor wasn’t in the building yet, but I could reach out to his secretary, Darie. I did this, and she apologized and said the doctor was running late but should be there in the next 10 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, the doctor was still not in the office and at this point it’s 9:25AM and I am going to be later for work. I call Darie back and I’m told that the doctor is still stuck in traffic, but he should be there shortly. At 9:40AM, Dr. Rosenberg has still not arrived to our 9AM appointment and neither himself nor his secretary has had the courtesy to reach out to me at all, letting me know he is running late and asking whether I would like to re-schedule or wait. Nothing, I had to reach out every time. I called at 9:40AM saying that I would be leaving because at this point I was very late for my job, which it seems to me doctors often forget, that the rest of us have jobs and schedules to keep. Darie asked if I would like to reschedule citing that the doctor was stuck in traffic, to which I informed her, that I had to take the same roads to get to the office and if I could make it there on time, it wasn’t traffic he is stuck in, rather, he left late and is discourteous of my time. I told her that I was in a rush and would call back to reschedule. As if this wasn’t jarring enough, I then called back 1 week later (I had been out of town) to reschedule. I was told that there were no appointments available until December! I explained to Darie that the doctor didn’t show up for my previous appointment and it seemed a little appalling that he couldn’t find a time to see me until December when the rescheduling was due to his mistake. I was told she would check back in. She called back and said there was nothing she could do, December was the earliest he could see me. I said okay could I get the last appointment of the day. She offered 1PM, I asked if that was the latest he could see me. I was told it was, because I was a new patient and once he sees me he can start seeing me at 4PM. I was shocked! I asked if he would make an exception at which point I was told that I was being unreasonable. I told her that I was amazed at this treatment and that I would be writing a review and finding another doctor.

Excellent Gastroenterologist! Very knowledgeable and knows how to explain things in layman terms. He is my Mom's doctor and now he is my GI doctor too. I highly recommend him to anyone that needs an excellent GI Doctor.

Best gastrointestinal doctor in New York. I was misdiagnosed in Miami Beach and nearly died (c.diff) and flew to N.Y. to see Dr. Rosenberg and he got me correctly diagnosed and treated. Has also treated other members of my family, all successfully.
