Mansfield & Mansfield

Didn't really use this station cause Mansfield Woodhouse was closer when I lived there, but what I can say is that it's just a station with 2 platforms, typical for a UK train station and parking shouldn't really be an issue. That being said, connections are very limited, only being served by trains to worksop and Nottingham.

Smaller station so limited facilities, especially for disabled travelling. Would advise that people use the disabled loos in the nearby bus station as they are radar key operated and in better condition. You also need proof of a ticket for staff to unlock them for you, which can be time consuming and no good if you're in a rush. Disabled access to the station is quite good and well signposted. Cobbles on the Worksop side so something to factor in for wheelchair users. Entrance to station waiting room is on the narrow side for wheelchairs. Train staff are usually friendly and helpful.

Could do with more facilities, and a footbridge to cross the platform. Other than that it was cleaner and tidier than a lot of train stations. The info tvs also have a problem with getting a signal so no information was available until the announcement.

I purchased a ticket from Mansfield train station to Coventry from the ticket office at Mansfield and at the same time requested a print out of the journey changes. The print out said to change at Nottingham and Birmingham New street. On arrival at the barrier at Birmingham new street I was denied access to the coventry train platform. On querying this with Birmingham New street ticket office staff they said that the print out I had been given was not correct and the ticket would not allow travel through Birmingham New street to Coventry. The ticket office would not budge on this issue even though they admitted that the Mansfield ticket office had given me the wrong information. They asked me to pay again or purchase a single ticket to Coventry

I am absolutely disgusted in this train station my mum brought my disabled niece here to use the toilet who is only 4 and was desperate for a wee and she was refused access as she didn't have a ticket. She was told to go 2 the bus station which is near by. By the time she had got there my niece had wet herself ????????????
