I was very nervous going through my first workers comp settlement. I felt like I had no idea where to even begin! I was jobless (Amazon terminated me because they couldn't accommodate me for an injury I obtained in THEIR warehouse), I was homeless (wasn't able to pay rent), and I had no money. It was the lowest point in my life that I hope I don't ever have to relive. After months without pay, the insurance company for Amazon tried to offer me a very small settlement (found out later they weren't ever going to give me it because THEY HAD NO RECORD OF IT BEING OFFERED) and at that point I was furious.
