The architecture is incredible. Unfortunately, photos inside are forbidden because there are many fascinating corners that have terrific instagrammable potential. Beyond the F L Wright impact, the story of the Johnson family legacy is interesting albeit a tad propogandist. But don't let that dissuade you from a visit. It is a unique experience. The tour is not 100% wheelchair accessible but what i was able to see / learn, i do not feel like i missed out on too much.
Awesome tour and fantastic guides. I arrived early and was offered a movie prior to the tour, which made all the difference.
This is a review of the tour. It was interesting to see all of the architecture and visit each building. The tour guides are generally knowledgeable, although they prefer sticking to their script. Oddly you can't take pictures of the interiors, even in buildings which are no longer used. I found parts of the tour to be annoyingly self-congratulatory, especially the lavish museum at the conclusion. There's a lot of greenwashing despite their solar panels are undersized for the buildings, and their products rarely use biodegradable packaging. They even pat themselves on the back for doing business in Apartheid South Africa ????.
Very valuable tour experience, it toolkits 90 mins here to see the greatest art work made by Fran Lloyd Wright . Tour guide Tricia is a wonderful lady , her nice detail guiding making people easy understanding. Must visit in Racine. Can’t take pictures inside the building, but still feeling good.
The free tour was way more interesting than I had expected. Full of history, adventure and amazing architecture. Sat in a Frank Lloyd Wright designed desk. Little fast through some of the sections, but, only if you are trying to read everything. Finish in the main hall under a Sea Plane used to fly to South America. Retrace the route in a parquet floor map.
