"Vicious and Vindictive" said Solano County Superior Court Judge Harry KinnicuttnnThis totally unaccountable agency has become the scourge of families and workers who like to spend time enjoying our beautiful SF Bay waters and shoreline. They bully businesses all around the Bay, levy ludicrous fines for fictitious infractions, and abuse their powers to control things that are not in their jurisdiction.nnThey are the epitome of government gone rogue and they do so in our name.nnThe Suisun Bay Duck Club fought them and won and the Superior Court Judge gave BCDC the most severe dressing down and reminded the Commission that they have to obey the law like we do. He got it right when he said BCDC is "more interested in challenging than cooperating". Who do these petty bureaucrats think they are?nnAt Scott's Seafood restaurant in Jack London Square, BCDC fined the restaurant over $800,000! And for what? Because an outside table was the wrong shape and the legs of a chair were the wrong color. Moreover, they increased their initial fine after they subpoenaed the owner's bank account records and determined he could be fined more. This is outrageous and a more fitting tactic for the Mafia than a government agency.nnOver at the beautiful Westpoint Harbor in Redwood City, BCDC is trying flex its muscles but they have run into stiff opposition. Thousands of "Friends of Westpoint" have put their signatures on a petition protesting BCDC's capricious behavior, dozens of speakers turn up and deliver powerful commentary at public meetings and, thankfully, the State Audit Office ordering a deep look into the running of the commission.nnTime this commission was replaced with something more modern. I hope Governor Newsome has it on his list of projects for the first 100 days.

Shake down agency willing to break any law to enforce false claims against Bay Area and Delta waterfront business. Led by a hopeless cast of self important board members who simply accept anything its corrupt staff feeds them, a truly perfect showcase of government corruption. Recent court decisions show not only are they vindictive but also can't figure out how to run even the simplest judiciary functions. A state agency tax payers should not be funding.
