I was told in many cases that I would not good representation in West Virginia. I first was represented by Arnold &Bailey. Mr. Arnold did not care to represent me. Mr. Arnold was friends with my Husband Attorney (they would laugh together behind closed doors). I needed a Attorney that would fight for me. Let me tell you this. Ms. Scales fought for me like no other!!! I am African America and Native America, there were so many who told me I would not get a good lawyer out here because of my race and that is such a LIE! Ms. Scales cared enough for me, and she fought hard for me. My Husband and I ending up getting back together but, in the end, he made mention that Mr. Arnold did not care, nor did he fight for me, but Ms. Scales really cared, and she fought hard for me. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MRS. CINDY SCALES if you want someone to fight for you and care about you and not for the money.

She was rude and acted like I was bothering her during my consultation. She made a derogatory remarks about me as I was leaving to her assistant. Total narcissist. Do not recommend at all.

My daughter went for a custody consultation and had questions. They weren't answered were more about what it costs & payment plan "and they'll take care of all paperwork". Spent 10 minutes with her. For such a sensitive and emotional subject you would think there would be a little more compassion shown to client and at the very least an explanation of the process not just "it should take about 4 months" answer. The reason for the two stars is because they were able to schedule a quick appointment. In hindsight, probably for good reason.

Cinda is top notch. You just have to listen to her. She’s the attorney, you are the client.

I recently had ms.scales represent me in a child custody modification case. She had me pay up front the consultation fee and the retainer a total of $3600. We went into court and she basically told me that the judge would never go for what I wanted so that I needed to come up with something else. When I told her numerous times of what I wanted she got mad at me to make me lower what I wanted. When we walked into the court room the judge says she hopes her client isn’t a basket case like the last one. And scales laughs at it like that’s unprofessional and she did not stand up for anything that I wanted. She just agreed with what the judge said. Then turns around and stands up for my ex husband. I then go into her office for a meeting about what happened in court with my mother and she won’t let my mom back with me when I gave her permission to be in there. She lied and said I’d be better off with another lawyer. She then tells me no refunds. Sends me a copy of the order to review before it was submitted to the courts and then tells me that it’s already been submitted so I can’t do anything else. She took my money and ran with it. Nothing but a con artist trying to make a quick paycheck. “Best in Berkeley county” that’s a joke.
