This is the worst SS office I've ever encountered. Their phone number is never accessible. I waited online for long but ended up with being hung up multiple times. I called back 4-5 times, and every time was hung up. I assume this is what they do when they don't want to work. They make careless mistakes and block the access to correct it. As a taxpayer I feel being abused. Suggestion: even though it is recommended to go to the SS office that is in charge of the county you live in, other SS offices still can accept your application. So don't go to the one in Akron if you want to get things done.

There needs to be an overhaul of the employees. They are rude, incompetent & will hang up on customers after holding for approximately 1 hour! They are horrific! It takes so much effort to accomplish the smallest tasks. The government should be ashamed!

They've consistently made mistakes with my son's SSI disability case, and nobody will ever fix it. Every year we run into problems. Pre-pandemic I would go to the office several times a month to try to get any mistakes fixed, but now - attempting to do this by phone - is totally impossible. They gave me information that isn't even accurate or true, if you look at the SSI handbook.

Waited on hold very long time multiple times only to get hung up on. You can't goto the office to talk to someone with out an "appointment" which you will never get one. Very upsetting. Especially when trying to notify of a death and it's already heartbreaking to deal with and then have to keep calling over and over about it.

Just called for replacing my SSN card. The person who picked up the phone was really nice and explained to me all the steps. Even though I need to call them again tomorrow after checking some documents back home, I feel relieved that I know what to do now. On top of that, it´s really great to talk with someone who is nice isn´t it!
