We had a difficult neighborhood problem that needed a unique, out-of-the-box solution. Drawing on his years of experience and knowledge, Mr. Tankel proposed a creative and effective strategy for us. He was committed to our cause and worked diligently on our behalf resulting in a successful outcome!

I’m not sure why anyone would use this firm because they do not appear to be operating ethically. My brother submitted the full payment for a debt he was told he owed by his HOA. While he completely disagreed with the debt, he paid it, while he sought the advise of an attorney as to how he should proceed to keep the HOA from moving forward as they had with other owners. (His HOA has recently become a predominantly minority homeowners and once this occurred, the HOA immediately started levying fraudulent and improper fines on owners and moving swiftly to levy liens on properties in attempts to force minority homeowners out). My brother paid Mr. Tankel the entire $1,495 (which was more than the actual outstanding debt the HOA billed him - $431.). Once he made this payment, the HOA immediately billed him $1,000, stating Mr. Tankel’s firm said he only paid $431. Of course my brother has proof of his payment and have now been going back and forth with this firm over email because no one will answer the phone. Because I have a legal background, I have called the law firm 4 times as of today and left messages each time, and no one will return my call or my brother’s call. My brother is now sending his receipts and emails to the HOA. This is extremely unethical and/or fraudulent on either this firm’s part or both the HOA and this firm. The entire experience have been a disgrace and make it difficult for good, ethical attorneys who actually do great work. Please beware. Both my brother and I most clearly understand the legal process better than most and understand ethics and right from wrong. The professional curtesy of a return call and the ethical representations to the HOA management company is all we asked for. If you returned calls as quickly as you respond to reviews, you would most likely have 5 star ratings!!

It was an absolute pleasure having a conversation with Mr. Tankel “Bob”. He enlightened me about a possible HOA dispute in my area more so than any other attorney I’ve contacted. He truly takes the time to research your inquiry, speaks to you in a very professional and courteous manner, and most importantly talks to you like a human being who cares. All these other big name lawyer organizations don’t give you the time of day and treat you like another number. If you want a personalized and attention to detail approach in the world of law, I wouldn’t hesitate at all to call Bob. May he live another 100 years!!

Phone calls not returned by this debt collection agency - it’s not possible to reach a human by phone - only voicemail messages can be left - even with time sensitive matters, this agency handles matters in a most slipshod way. Wouldn’t recommend using this firm under any circumstances

My interactions with Tankel Law have been to say at the least, very unpleasant. His fees and tactics for collecting a $150 HOA fee have been abusive. I'm sure the rebutle from Mr. Tankel will be that his firm is within the rights of the law but he has no regard for the people he interacts with. Our roof was damaged last year in the hurricane and when I contacted the firm to make payment arrangements and explain that we had just paid $4500 to have our roof repaired and our budget was very tight they insisted we pay more than we could afford at the time. While I have every intention of paying what is owed, I feel that the fees and threats to take our home have been excessive. We've now been charged approximately $1000 for $150 HOA fee that was late. I would like to mention that we were never sent a reminder for the HOA dues, which would have negated the need for any of this. I'm sure that Tankel law feels that they are providing a needed service but I'm not sure they have any care for the stress and hardship they cause to families in the process.
