I had the unfortunate experience of having Ms. Ortiz as my attorney in my divorce. I can only describe all as “dirty and not honorable” in her practices. Over the course of the services she provided, it became painfully clear that she was not committed to protecting the rights of my children, nor my rights as a father. Instead of advocating for my interests and facilitating a fair process, her actions led to significant delays and miscommunications that ultimately resulted in me not seeing my children for nearly 10+ years. This lack of diligence and care in handling my case has caused irreparable harm to my relationship with my children, leaving me feeling frustrated and helpless. Given the negative impact this attorney’s services have had on my life, I would strongly advise against hiring her. Her failure to represent me effectively has not only cost me precious time but also the opportunity to be present in my children’s lives during their formative years. The term “dirty” aptly describes her approach, as it reflects a disregard for ethical standards and client welfare. I would definitely not recommend this attorney to anyone seeking legal representation, especially in matters as sensitive as family law. This attorney should not be practicing Family Law at all. Should definitely be disbarred.

"I'm extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Melissa. I found her to be consistently lazy and forgetful. She rarely returned my phone calls or texts, and our conversations often felt like I was starting from scratch. In court, Melissa prioritized the opposing party's interests over mine, disregarding my needs and concerns. Even simple tasks, like preparing documents, required multiple follow-up calls to her and her paralegal. The billing was excessive, with charges far exceeding our initial agreements. Melissa was dismissive of my priorities, and I strongly advise against seeking her services for divorce proceedings.

Paid several payments for services that were never rendered. The singular thing she did get done she didn’t even get the judge to sign the final order for after months and months of reminding her to, finally I asked ONE time to opposing counsel and they did it! She spoke disrespectfully to me several times, her staff was rude in its emails to me not to mention the massive amount of grammatical errors contained in the legal document's she did manage to complete. I had to pay a second payment for something that never even got done and then she refused to reimburse me for it even though I have it in writing she would. Then, when her office sent me my closing file it contained documents from SEVERAL other peoples files with their personal information in it. I can only imagine how many times they have done this and have been disseminating personal data all over. I am currently working on a detailed file to send to the State Bar regarding everything I went through. DO NOT USE MRS ORTIZ

I am currently very unhappy with this lawyer. Before she took my money for services rendered she would return all my calls, answered my emails and my text messages . Since my husband seems to have halted the divorce (because I have no idea what happened) she is no longer taking my calls! I called her office and her staff member hung up on me!!! Don't use her people!!

I hired Melissa Ortiz after searching for someone to help with my modification. From the moment I met her, I was a client for life! She is confident, kind and knows exactly how to approach each situation as it should be. Her entire staff is just as amazing. Kelly, her right hand woman, is the easiest person to work with. She is understanding, tells it exactly like it is and is so kind in the process. Divorce is hard, modifications are no easier and the entire staff made it as easy as they could on me and my children. I highly recommend Melissa Ortiz and her staff for your legal needs. You will not be disappointed.
