Mr. Schmidt and his staff have been very informative and great people to work with! We went to the office for a consultation a while back and just wasn't sure how to handle our issue and they were able to point us in the right direction for our needs. When in the office or on the phone, they never make you feel like they are rushing you to end conversations or out the door and to us that is a great service.

We unfortunately found ourselves needing a lawyer. Having never hired one before, I relied on google reviews to help me obtain what I thought was going to be a real problem solver. I couldn’t have been more wrong. From the beginning it was a debacle. I received countless threatening emails pertaining to bills I did not owe, as I paid a flat fee upfront. Instead of calling they text you which I find extremely unprofessional. My son was arrested twice for something we had no control over. We were told our case was over by the attorney. It was not over. We missed a court date so my son was arrested again. When I asked why we weren’t notified I was told that district court doesn’t send out notices. Now wouldn’t an attorney know that? When the judge sent over her settlement offer to the attorney, they text it to me. It was full of abbreviations that I didn’t understand. I asked for clarification and got nothing. Today I showed up for a confirmed appointment and no one was there so I went to the courthouse myself. All in all, this was a huge waste of money. My son got the same outcome had we walked in there ourselves. This place did nothing to help us. I hope you never find yourself needing legal representation but if you do….id look elsewhere. John Schmidt has a tendency to threaten defamation lawsuits after getting a bad review and I feel it’s only a matter of time before I get his threat. I have receipts for all of my claims, including emails and text messages. Edited to add he knows exactly who we are. Must be his way of avoiding accountability.

I lost my kids due to being in addiction John was with every step of my journey he does not sugarcoat anything that's what makes him such a good lawyer and you can tell that he cares. I now have all four of my children in my care.I highly recommend him.

Long but worth the read if you plan on hiring Mr. John Schmidt. My fiance was in an auto accident due to a medical emergency he was having. He was given a citation and a court date at the hospital by the police. We assumed with the proper medical records to prove the accident was due to a medical issue it would all be over. Well that was not the case. After meeting with the D.A. he stated all of our medical records that were brought were inadmissible in court due to not having them sent to the court or an attorney with an affidavit attached. Then we were told because of a "new law" in Kentucky he would have to be set for a pre-trial in the criminal courts. We sat down after given the above information waiting to get a new court date, I paid attention to how the attorneys who were there conversed with the D.A., Assistant D.A. Bailiff, and Judge. I noticed Mr Schmidt and the above people mentioned seemed to have mutual respect for one another. We went straight to his office after receiving the "pre trial" date and hired him. Patti, his paralegal, was AMAZING and we happy to say he was able to have the charges dismissed without my fiance even stepping foot back in the courthouse. John Schmidt is repected by the people in the judical system and that makes for a great lawyer to have. Thank you for all you did!

It was handled promptly and professionally, and kept me informed during the entire process. John has helped me and my family for many years with various legal matters. He’s never treated us like "just another client".
