Went here for my refinance closing. I've experience with closing attorneys from Hickory to Asheville. The closing went fast, and without incident. Any and all questions were quickly answered. I will say it was probably the fastest and best closing I have seen.

So far working with this firm they have been extremely difficult to communicate with. My wife has tried numerous times to contact Beth in different ways and seems to be getting the run around on trying to close an estate. She was told originally it would close in June, then August and now all of a sudden not until December without any explanation. I suggest not using this firm for estate issues.

Beth and Andy did an amazing job facilitating my buyers and I through our 8 unit apartment complex transaction. They were quick to handle any problems that came up throughout the closing process. I would highly recommend The Williams Law Firm!

I sold a piece of inherited farm land in December 2022 and Williams Law Firm handled the closing. After the HUD-1 settlement sheet was prepared, Andy Farr stepped in and said that I had to sign an AV-3 form and have $5059.42 withheld to pay deferred Present Use Value taxes for the previous three years. He assured me that this was a procedural step and that the funds would be returned to me once the new owner enrolled the land in the PUV tax program … probably in 4-6 weeks. About six weeks after the closing, I reached out to the Williams Law Firm to ask about the refund. They gave me a song & dance story about contacting the Catawba County Tax Office attorney about the issue but never got an answer for me. So, I contacted Brian Myers at the tax office and he said there was no provision for refunding those taxes and never has been. He added that the AV-3 form was a “voluntary” payment of those deferred taxes and that I was not required to pay them at the closing. After learning this, I contacted Beth Williams and she has not returned my calls or emails. As it turns out, she is a personal friend with the buyer. So, my conclusion is either … 1. Andy Farr was ignorant of PUV tax law and should have kept his nose out of it, 2. Andy Farr knew that I would not get the $5059.42 back and lied to me about it, 3. Andy Farr acted on instruction from Beth Williams to add this deduction to my settlement, or 4. All of the above. In either case, I believe this law firm is inept and my recommendation is that you NEVER trust Williams Law Firm to handle a closing!
