Nothing but great thinkers and leaders at FIU. I appreciate its diversity of students, professors, and staff.
Professors enjoy including politics into the course disregarding the subject. It seems its always the liberal professors who enjoy doing this to students and punish you if you do not hold the same opinion. This is definitely not a university where intellectual diversity is encouraged instead a single monotone progressive idea is pushed down students throats. nnAlso, elevators in the different parking garages are perpetually broken and rarely fixed. The amount of students in the university is overwhelming where parking is practically impossible. FIU seems to disregard the fact the amount of parking spaces does not meet the amount of students and continues to accept more students than the previous year.nnHowever, it terms of scholarships FIU offers many. This is one of the great qualities in the university. Also has very nice, safe, and clean campus. Occasionally you will get very qualified and passionate professors.nnAltogether this university has a lot to fix.
This summer is my first term at FIU online, and it will be my last. Never thought I would be in such a disorganized UNIVERSITY!! nnFor a fully online University, they sure do have a lot of restrictions that only hinders the online learning process.nnThe professor at the University all needs to be replaced, with new ones. The professor at this University now, are only here to make sure the student body doesn't pass.
Not clear about program requirements. Applied for Cognitive Neuroscience Cert and they took my 30 bucks and cancelled my application for no reason. I included more than what was claimed as being the required documents for admissions. The whole process to even apply to it was awful. Waited an hour minimum for grad admissions to pick up and never heard back from the program coordinator whose email was provided on their website.
I applied to their finance online program and when I was scheduled to pick up classes there were no open available classes. Mind you that the admissions fee is $200 and it goes as a credit toward your classes. It has since been 3 semesters that I am not able to schedule classes for and when I requested a refund for the $200 fee that I paid there are telling me it is non refundable . It must be nice for a school to take your money keep it and provide no available courses for you to take their school is over populated which makes the classes fill up way to fast. I would not recommend FIU at all. STAY AWAY!!! Now they kept my money. They seem as if they were a good school before but not anymore.
