Thompson & Thompson

I have gone to Dr. Thompson for many years now. Every doctor should model after this man. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever been to. He is ALWAYS kind, caring, calm and patient. If I have questions he thoroughly explains things and will even use pictures if necessary to help me understand. He delivered my 3rd child VBAC and it was by far my favorite and most peaceful delivery. I felt so connected with my baby the entire time, it was beautiful. He has also done two surgeries for me. I actually used to work with him in surgery so I already knew he was a fantastic surgeon. The day he retires will be a very sad day.

The first place I looked for an opinion of Dr.Thompson as an OBGYN regarding pregnancy was right here. Even though I had seen him for normal gyn stuff for 2 years. I read through every review I could find of Dr Thompson before scheduling an OB Apt with his office. Everything was perfect up until delivery. So let’s start from the beginning! Before I got pregnant Dr.Thompson was AMAZING. Very nice bed side manner, kind, would answer my questions all day long. His staff is kind and easy to get an appointment. During my routine OB visits everyone including Dr.Thompson was kind, happy, amazing bed side manner, couldn’t have been any better! I might also add Dr.Thompson is very knowledgeable and on point with everything. I went in to be induced everything was going well….he came in and visited and advised me if I wanted an epidural to get one before at least a 5 (I did not want one and was at a 3 moments later so I requested the fluids and epidural to be safe) well 3 turned to 5 turned to 10 in a matter of less than 20 minutes. Remember where I said he told me to request the epidural if I wanted one? At that time he also advised me my labor would progress fast after a 5. Needless to say we’re now at a 9 and baby is coming! Whew I’m so glad to see Dr.Thompson, he was there and ready to deliver a baby! And at this point he was very kind however during pushing he was not very kind. He advised me we could be there for 4 minutes or 4 hours. After hearing that at a vulnerable moment and with his not so nice tone I kindly would’ve requested a different OB but with the circumstances of a baby about to fly out I decided that was not the brightest idea. (Please keep in mind I was having painful contractions and pushing and his fingers or someone’s fingers inside me and I still remained nice during this). He also said something else with a rude tone but as I said I was a little busy and don’t recall. I’m not sure who peed in his post toasties but I don’t feel like I deserved to be spoke to in this way especially during this time. I have rooted for Dr Thompson and recommend him to several ladies and I’m not sure I will do that anymore. However the most important part of all this is medically he is amazing doctor. After that experience I can’t say his bed side manner is great anymore. These are the details I experienced personally.

Dr Thompson did a laproscopic surgery for me in Nov '22 to remove endometriosis from my ovaries, unstuck my left ovary from my abdominal wall, remove free fluid, and flushed my extremely blocked tubes. He performed the surgery at OSH and I had an amazing experience with him and the staff there. He's very thorough and with his help I'm living my best life.

Everyone should know this guy knows what he's doing. I found the best OBGYN in Oklahoma, he listens and figured out what was wrong with me in less than 30 minutes. I just had surgery and I'm now recovering and have no back pain and I've had excruciating back pain for a while and never thought I needed a full hysterectomy. Thank goodness for this man. If your looking for a great dr than look no further, this is the guy!

Dr. Thompson himself was great the two times I met him. Very kind and took time to answer my questions and he is very VBAC friendly! The low rating is for his office. I had to wait an hour for a 10 minute appointment, his office never calls or texts or sends emails to remind you of appointments. They dropped me as a patient at 26 weeks without any notice because I took too long rescheduling an appointment (they never called me to reschedule either, which my other OBs office’s did for my previous pregnancies and I also did go to an ultrasound they ordered during that time). When I asked to be put back on they said they would talk to the doctor. I called again and they said the same thing. They never called me back and at that point I was so disappointed I switched to a midwife. I later got a bill closing out the account with the note “thank you for letting us care for you”. You didn’t! -Serena Plaisted
