ZERO work was out in by Troy law.
absolutely insane job application/interview experience that I felt the need to share:nu2022 the "firm" was big enough for maybe 3 people to stand innu2022 in the initial email inviting me to an interview it said, "[...] unless you are sincere in this job opportunity, please do not waste your time and ours," which should have been enough of a tell to ward off quality candidatesnu2022 there is one lawyer who is an absolute crackpot, "mr.troy"nu2022 there is a case of bud light in the "conference room"nu2022 there is a deposition transcript framed in the conference room, wherein Mr. Troy likely felt that he succeeded in making someone say something that they regretted on recordnu2022 "mr. Troy" said that he "will never trust white people who speak chinese", and although i applied to a bilingual position, and he quite obviously speaks chinese, refused to speak mandarin with me during the "interview process" when i tried speaking to him in chinese, he turned to the side and didn't give me any attentionnu2022 called people at cornell that don't do well people that should jump off the bridgenu2022 said that if i wanted, i could do an "unpaid fulltime internship" instead of working full time as a paralegal, which was the position i applied for nu2022 made me haggle for a wage that i thought was fair, and didn't mention anything about the going rate that the firm would paynu2022 asked if i knew an unintelligible, and then illegible piece of software that he couldnt even find on his computernu2022 clearly had not read my resume prior to inviting me for an interview, and had made me drive 7 hours down to for a complete waste of my time, didn't ask anything about my own experiences, but instead only explained that he "like to sue people" and that he has over 130 cases currently in litigationnu2022 said that he would "kill me," "just kidding"nu2022 at the end of this bonanza, said "NEXT" and then the three plastic chairs that were bunched together right by the cramped area by the front door were somehow filled up by random other fresh-faced wannabe paralegalsnnAll in all a completely unprofessional and scary experience that i was worried i wouldnt be able to get out of, hopefully whoever decides to work with this guy can handle his personal circus. if invited to an interview, i highly recommend evaluating ANY other options and not wasting one's time going to, preparing for, or corresponding with Troy law. Just, absolutely crazy. Felt like i was in a dream.nn I'd assume his litigation is just as unprofessional as his job-interviewing, so i'd highly recommend taking cases to a more qualified, sane, and accountable lawyer.nnEdit: To be frank, it was clear from our time together that we weren't a good fit for one another?i was looking for experience prior to attending law school, and you seemed to be looking for a person to fill a permanent position. Also, after speaking with me in the manner in which you did, it was clear that this would not be an opportunity for professional growth. Regardless of your decision, this was not a job I would ever take.nnMr. Troy said "i give you test," and then asked how one would say "waiter." I responded u670du52a1u5458uff0cinocuously enough, and he said that it was wrong, even though this is a word meaning exactly that. Again, he did not "converse" with me in Mandarin. nnI have studied Mandarin for over four years, have had other interviews in Chinese, have lived in China, and study the history of China rigorously. There are no issues in communication in these experiences. I still study Chinese every day, and take every chance i get to communicate and move forward in the language I love. To say that I was "unable to communicate," is an upsetting comment to hear when i wasn't offered the opportunity to. nnI appreciate you using my English name, but i perfer my chinese name, u53f8u5f92u660e.
Troy is not responsible and whatever on the contract is fake, you will never know what is the real settlement amount because he will lie. Never trust him.
