Watkins Lourie Roll & Chance PC

This is THE law firm to use if your case pertains to Elder Neglect and Senior Citizen abuse. Watkins, Lourie, Roll and Chance, have specialized in elder care abuse. They were instrumental in putting together a case that ended in a fair settlement, in a short time frame. I highly recommend that you talk to this law firm if you have a loved one that you think is being abused, or neglected in a Senior Living facility.
7.25.19 its 3am in the morning. I was calling this firm for more info on a medical malpractice attorney. I knew they would be closed but i have a memory problem and must do things when i think of them. So As i was saying.....i called and a live answering service picked up. I said i know the office is closed but I'd like someone to call me regarding a medical malpractic attorney. She sleepily stated the firm name again and sternly said you need to call back at 9am. So i said since you are the answering service can you just take a message. But she restated what she said about 9am even more sternly. Since your 1st point of contact is your 1st impression. I will keep looking.
From the first time I met Stephen Chance I knew he was a man of integrity, compassion and empathy. Our's was not a very strong or enticing case. And most attorneys would probably had walked away from us but for whatever reason, he agreed to take it on. Throughout the approximately two year working with him he was patient and kind, he truly cared about Dennis and was always open and honest with us. Every call from him started with him asking about Dennis because he really cared. There were so many times that we were frustrated and hurt throughout this process. Stephen was always there to pick us up and keep us on track and make sure we were looking at things in the correct perspective. He was so patient with me when I would go off on a tangent about fairness. He reeled me back in without making me feel like a bad person. When we went for our first appointment, we were seeking an attorney. What we walked away with was a compassion and kind soul who really cares about people. I felt he was walking beside us, never in front or behind but right there beside us when we needed him most.
A few years ago, my grandfather was given another patients medication at a Columbus Georgia area rehab facility where he was being treated for a broken arm. He died as a result. Our family was in shock. We had suddenly lost a beloved member of our family and wanted to understand what happened and then to hold the people involved responsible. One of my grandfather's physicians was outraged at the medical malpractice and recommended that we contact attorney Neil Howard. Mr. Howard was able to discover that the medication was administered by a nurse contracted by a local staffing agency. Because there were multiple parties involved, Mr. Howard brought in attorney Stephen Chance from Watkins, Lourie, Roll and Chance in Atlanta. Together they filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the nursing home and the staffing agency. Mr. Chance and his team handled the discovery requests and responses. He also did a tremendous job finding and interviewing expert witnesses who could explain to a jury how the medication administered to my grandfather affected him and caused his subsequent death. As this case evolved over more than three years, I spoke with Mr. Howard and Mr. Chase frequently as they kept me updated on the status of the case. Whenever I had a question, I was always able to call and they always responded right away. Mr. Howard was very patient with my family as they expressed their desire to see justice done. He very kindly helped us understand the limitations of civil cases and the potential outcomes we might expect. A couple of months ago attorneys from the rehab facility requested that we attend mediation to potentially settle the case. Though we didn't initially want to settle, I was hopeful that my family could be spared the emotional roller coaster of a trial. After being advised by Mr. Howard and Mr. Chance, I was able to talk to my family and reach a consensus about the value we would find agreeable. At mediation, attorney Stephen Chance took the lead. He respectfully but forcefully presented our case to the opposing side. He also very tactfully presented video testimony from an expert witness that had not previously been shared. He and Mr. Howard explained ahead of time what their expectations were and what their negotiating strategy would be. After several hours of back and forth, we reached a settlement that our family found acceptable. I highly recommend the law firm Watkins, Lourie, Roll and Chance. They handled our case perfectly and showed tremendous care and concern for my family along the way.
