We had a private tour on Oct. 19th 4 days ago. Annie was our wonderful tour guide. She made us feel very comfortable and was very knowledgeable and explained the history of all the wolves. I was very happy with the surroundings and areas in which the wolves were taken care of. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back again!
I found this sanctuary by their Facebook page about a year ago. Originally we planned to do one of the full moon tours (because HOW RAD!!) but our 5 year old daughter is too young to be there for that tour (16+) so we opted for one of the regular tours. nnFrom our house, it was a fairly long drive but it was well worth it! Between the reasonable prices to the mass amount of knowledge the volunteers have to how incredible it was to see these beautiful creatures up close! My family & I were not disappointed in the slightest. nnThe tour takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour & a half (depending on how long you stop & look) & every minute was incredible. nnWe will definitely be returning (with friends!! )closer to winter & one day for a full moon tour. nnKeep up the great work!
I have so much respect for the volunteers that make this non-profit sanctuary possible.nnPros:nnThe tour guides are knowledgable and professional despite being volunteers, the sanctuary is well maintained and most of the wolves will come to the front of their enclosures to see the tour group, the location has a decent gift shop, convenient parking is available for individuals with mobility issues, the staff is very kind and understanding!nnCons: nnThe paths get very muddy if it has been raining, the sanctuary is only open at very select times that changes each season, tours have gotten less personal and more self-guided since they've been understaffed and admission has skyrocketed, no running water, half the wolves can only be seen during private tours which fill up four months in advance!
We visited for the public tour on Saturday. Arrived at 9:35am and stayed until noon. The tour guides / volunteers were very informative and friendly. The wolves looked like they were in great shape. Happy to come back for a private tour, full moon tour, or even just to see the wolves play in the winter.
Entrancing guided tour through a large, forested area with protective fencing for the wolves. My first encounter with these elusive animals, and surely not my last. The volunteer guide was very well informed and friendly. The wolves are well cared for and protected. Not to be missed.
