Zarka Law Firm

I can not in good conscience recommend this law firm to anyone. I retained their services in November 2020 and didn’t get divorced until May of 2023. Completely unacceptable considering a friend started her divorce with another firm almost a year after me and was done a few months later. Not sure what is happening at this law firm but it was a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I too had to deal with 3 different attorneys only to be put in the back burner for YEARS. I too had to deal with 3 different attorneys. Caitlin Bennet was cold, and frankly useless. She nearly cost me custody of my dog until I argued my own case. The mediator asked if I was a lawyer! No, that’s what I payed you people for! Ron Funari was really not much better but just so happened to be stuck with me to get me to the finish line. Worst experience of my life. I really considered suing this law firm for dereliction of duty. Yeah, it’s THAT bad. Do yourself a favor and run far from this place.

This was my first experience hiring a lawyer, so not sure if this is a "normal" experience. But wasn't entirely impressed. it took 3 different laywers before anything with my divorce got done. Started with Caitlin Bennet, she seemed fine at first. But months went by after payment and I heard nothing. Called many times and she was never there, or available, nor called me back. Finally I called after a few months (again) and she tells me shes leaving the firm and the person taking over my case would call me. Weeks go by, nothing. So I call and find out my new attorney on my case is Cristina Sepulveda. She also hardly ever responded to calls, and when she did, she was always very annoyed or sounded inconvenienced. Months went by again, and I find out she quit working there and my case was being handled by Ron Funari. The owner of the firm personally spoke to me to apologize about the delay and how long it was taking, and I could transfer my stuff to the new law firm that Cristina would be working at or I could choose to stay with the firm and let Ron take my case. He actually called to update me, kept in contact via text/call and made sure i understood exactly what was going on. So with this firm, I recommend Ron Funari for divorce cases, other wise, the firm in general seemed unorganized and couldn't seem to keep lawyers long enough to even get my case started.

I would not recommend this law firm to anyone, at first they were very responsive which slowly turned to maybe a response once a month. I was recommend to this law firm from a family friend, but come to find out the actual professional lawyers had quit. I have called the office multiple times and ask to speak with Jennifer Zarka and still have not gotten a phone call or email. This law firm cost me more money and stress than my actual divorce. They have cost me time with my kids that I will never get back. My Lawyer "Ronnie Funar" supposedly still hasn't gotten my divorce decree, which I received it from the county when it was filed in November so I never got to review it. I have not heard from my lawyer since December 29th, still waiting for a response from him till this day.

I would certainly do your research before signing with Zarka Law Firm. My uncontested, no children, and one shared property divorce was started in July of 2021 with attorney Caitlyn Bennet and was moving along great but then nothing, no contact. I called only to find out that she had left the firm and someone else would be taking over my case, Ron Funari. I was never called, texted, or emailed about this change and probably would not have been had I not called to find out what the hold up was. Here we are in March 2023 and my divorce is still not finalized. No matter what time of day I call, my attorney is in court or otherwise occupied. I leave a message to call me back and nothing, emails go unanswered and I am not texting because they charge for that. Seems like every time I call I get a different answer. Sometimes its "we just need you to sign this document and its good to go", other times it is "we are waiting on your spouse to sign a document". Attorney Bennet had everything good to go and then I had to redo everything in the case once my case changed hands. I do not feel like my case has ever been taken seriously or prioritized despite having to pay twice (my initial retainer and once again when my retainer supposedly ran out). The staff is nice enough but I am tired of having to call multiple times a week just to make sure my case is being worked on.

This was by far the best legal representation I could have ever asked for. I hired Matthew Allen to be my lawyer not really knowing what to expect. My situation could have been life changing and I could have lost everything that I have worked for. This firms knowledge of the law literally was the difference maker in my case. After months of fighting on my behalf and the grace of God my case was completely dismissed! I would like to thank Mr. Allen and his entire team for giving me my life back. I’m forever grateful and would recommend them to everyone! Thank you for turning the worst experience ever to great one. No telling where I would be without this law firm! So happy me and my family can finally put this behind us.
