My company was contacted by Associated Materials in July of 2023 about performing a warranty siding replacement when another contractor passed on the project. Within a few days we had our estimate sent off and approved to do the work. It took almost 6 months and dozens of phone calls for Associated Materials to schedule sending the material to a local supplier. It took almost 5 more months for them to actually send the material. Two weeks later we had the new siding installed and the homeowner is happy. It is now almost 90 days since we finished and haven't been paid by Associated Materials. They rarely respond to emails and the only phone number I can call to try to get anyone on the phone is their warranty department only to get told that no one who can tell me when we'll get paid is available.
I bought new windows for my home from Associated Materials. While the housekeepers were washing the windows, I noticed water leaking as the result of a problem with the seal. After several months of submitting information, which I believe was a stall tactic, they denied my claim. I have all the documentation including photos and videos of the window leaking water. The only function of the window is to seal the air and water while providing light to the house. It is clearly a defect and should be addressed. Meanwhile, my house has suffered damage as a result of a faulty product and warranty claim system designed to wear the buyer down while offering no service after the sale. I would have paid a technician to correct the problem and if they were such a crooked company, they would have worked with me to resolve the issue. I would expect more for such a large investment and the irony is that I am adding on and wanted more windows until I found out the company has no integrity. Do your homework, they have subsidiaries.
Updated: They replaced the window after a somewhat burdensome, lengthy, and non-responsive claim process. No contact following my claim for a lost seal on a 3 year old window.
Terrible vinyl siding product and related warranty. New home siding began showing significant color loss after 5 years. Now 8 years in, it just keeps getting worse. Their warranty appears to be designed to protect them and not the consumer. If you are looking for substandard vinyl siding with poor weatherability and color fastness, this is the place. Would also be acceptable if you like your siding chalky. I ended up trying Vinyl Renu, since after sending in a faded sample, they were no help. You can see in the image the amount of fade - not covered under their warranty.
In the 8 years since we have purchased our home we have had 8+ Alside windows lose their seal and become encrusted with an opaque film that obscures vision and surely impairs temperature barrier properties. Our most recent blown window was reported in May 2023; three months later they attempted to install another cracked, defective window. We pointed this out to the employee who agreed the window was unsuitable for installation. 4 months later (8 months total!) we still do not have the window replaced via the warranty. There is no communication; calls and emails go unanswered.
