Throughout your your court proceedings it may seem as if Mr. Bergmann is not doing anything, however when it's time for action, he comes in clutch. Trust the process. You may not understand the method but you will be HAPPY it's Him representing you.
Ill admit it was alil rough and slow at first. They were going through alot of staffing changes. That hardly matters now because they came through for me when i needed it most. I was staring down a pretty nasty situation with a state agency that refused to listen to my story. Bergmann got me my life back. The staff they have there now is amazing and go beyond the call of duty(thanks again Paige). This firm is my go to now!
If you don't want to be a victim of malpractice, I recommend you don't hire Beau. He failed to let me know when I had hearings and did not tell me when I needed to collect affidavits from my witnesses. He asked for my affidavit the day I had a hearing (which I didn't know because he failed to communicate it to me). He didn't review my affidavit so the court denied it, because I had written it wrong. I'd never done one before so I didn't know. The day we were supposed to have mediation, his secretary calls to tell me he won't be able to make it and I'm going to have to go alone. Then after I lost, because of my lack of affidavits, he didn't communicate it to me and papers weren't served to me. I had to fire him and hire another attorney because of his misrepresentation.
Told us he could do something (in a positive postion) to win or lessen the case of minor charges. Charges his retainer, avoided calls, didn't inform, nor did he work on the case. Time rolls around for the case and trials where as he told the client to plead guilty to the charges. If you want to pay around 500$ to plead guilty I recommend you choose Bergman. He is very unprofessional and inconsiderate, not to mention a complete waste of money.
GO ELSEWHERE!!! He took my money and did not do ANYTHING on the case. He never even made contact with my boyfriend who was in jail at the time and WHY he was hired, to help get him out. I asked for a refund of the retainer paid and received a total of 188.00. Out of 1k. For “work” he did on discovery of the case. And charged ME for calling HIM asking WHY ISNT HE DOING ANYTHING. As others have said, he takes your money and doesn’t do anything. Which he has actually been reprimanded from the Iowa bar association for in the past. He is a joke and a waste of money. Don’t do it.
